new discovery: MAC Oil Control Lotion

happy tuesday! i went to M.A.C yesterday to play with some make-up and try out some new colors. i had one of the artists do my make-up (free during the week), and she used a product i have been wanting to try called Oil Control Lotion. i have used other oil control products beofre, but i heard M.A.C's worked exceptionally well. so, here i was. it was applied after moisturizer and before a product i use and love called Matte. she then continued with the application (and i bought a few products soon after). :)

when the artist finished with my make-up, i noted the time: 11am. i wanted to see how long it would take before i needed to pull out my trusted blotting papers. you see, i have oily skin, and although i keep my skin well hydrated (a must to keep oily skin from over producing oil because it's trying to compensate for the lack of moisture), and i use Matte, my face sometimes needs touch-ups thoughout the day.

so, i found out that the ingredients in the lotion have, according to M.A.C: natural exfoliants help improve texture and clarity, lightweight and instantly matte, bonds makeup to the skin for fewer touch-ups. oil-free hydration with natural colloidal minerals and antioxidants. formulated to keep skin pH-balanced.

to my surprise, it was close to 5pm before i started looking a bit shiny. i blotted my nose and forehead, powdered up a little, and that lasted for the rest of the day until i washed my face. it was 9:30pm! so, clearly, this product worked. the name says what it is supposed to do --control oil-- and it delivered. i am happy with the result.

i recommend this product to control any oil your skin may produce during the day. it worked better than other oil control products i have tried in the past! if you have oily or combination skin, try it for yourself and tell me what you think.
