hair therapy: 'The Bob' Circa 2008

by now, the bob has been around long enough that we all want to say enough. i mean, don't get me wrong, it's a fabulous hairstyle, but let's be real, it is everywhere.

so, now celebs who adopted this trend (and even those who really didn't) are moving on and growing out (or cutting) their hair to look fresh and new.

the result? the modernized bob with fringed ends that hit just above the collarbone and create beautiful lines by emphasizing the neck and shoulders.

to acheive this look, Fredric Fekkai’s Adir Abergel uses Coiff Bouffant all over the roots and dries hair upside down to create fullness. he then wraps hair around a 1" curling iron, making sure to leave the ends out to create a relaxed curl.

to soften this look, and add a slight wave, use Frederic Fekkai’s Coiff Oceanique Tousled Wave Spray to modernize texture and take it away from soccer mom territories.

if you want this to be your new style, Adir says, "clients should ask for a choppier bob so it’s not so blunt, but rather has texture on the ends with longer layers that frame the face for body. the long bob can become soccer mom-esque if it is too blunt, so make sure your stylist removes some bulk from hair by chops into the ends."
