NY Fashion Week Fall 2009: Rachel Roy

Rachel Roy presented her fall 2009 collection in the lobby of Barry Diller's IAC building, and it featured a color palette of taupes, pale yellows, greys, silvery blues, and black. it had quite a bit of a spring feeling to it in my opinion, but that's the great thing about fashion-- it can change the so-called "rules" of each season.

Roy says, "the inspiration really came from strength, wanting women to dress strong and wanting them to dress monochromatic. i wanted them to be kind of about their business in a way that had nothing to do with how long you want to talk about clothes as much as what's important in society, yet they're chic and they're dignified and they can change something."
