i know that red carpet events aren't the everyday for the average woman, but a dress like this isn't so over-the-top that it couldn't be worn to a great cocktail party or business event.
the color is neutral and the cut is flattering-- two elements to look for when you yourself are shopping for a type of dress that won't be worn very often. because who really wants a closet full of clothes they can't wear?
