hair therapy: how to create voluminous hair

creating volume in my own hair is simple (please refer to my new profile pic), but i know that isn't the case for everyone.

voluminous hair is feminine, sexy and all the rage right now. if you want to create volume, like Gabrielle Union, here's how:

start with clean, lightly conditioned hair. next, apply products that help to give hair volume like a foam or styling spray that are lighter in weight and add lift and body, while providing direction and control. to get maximum lift, apply these products at the roots.

make sure to dry your hair completely. the best way to do this, and create the volume you want, is to dry it section by section, with a round brush, making sure to lift the hair away from the scalp, and aiming the dryer at the root.

finish with hairspray, preferably in an aerosol form that has smaller particles and is quick-drying (try Bumble and bumble Spray de Mode, and stay tuned my review). again, focus on the roots. if your in a time pinch, and want to revive your limp hair, mist fingertips with hairspray, and push up on hair at the roots.
