Michelle Obama at the Inauguration

wearing a lemongrass-yellow dress and matching coat by Isabel Toledo, Michelle Obama looked warm, yet still fashionable, as she attended the inauguration of her hubby, Barack Obama. the coat and dress are made of swiss wool lace, backed with netting for warmth and lined in french silk. "i wanted to pick a very optimistic color, that had sunshine," Toledo said. "i wanted her to feel charmed, and in that way would charm everybody."

Ms. Toledo didn't even know until this morning that Michelle would be wearing her clothes-- how shocked she must have been! "we're all up here watching the t.v.," the designer said in a photo interview from her new york studio. "it's great. we're so happy."

her shoes are "Glacier" pumps by Jimmy Choo in a pretty green, and her gloves, while in the same color family, looked more olive or mossy toned, from J.Crew.
