"never too young for that first pedicure"

in an article featured in the NY Times, the idea behind "make-over" parties and salons catering to children, raises the question as to when playtime stops and consumerism begins.

i personally began taking my daughter to get pedicures when she was 5. now 7, she sees it as a chance for "mommy and me time", not a shopping trip. i love the idea of introducing my girl to the world of beauty, and teaching her to realize that it's fun to be a girl.

read the article and tell me what you think.
