Sunday Night Musings...

the holidays are officially over, and while i somewhat miss the anticipation and excitement leading up to it, i think i have been enjoying the "slow down" of things this past week a little bit more. the only thing i'm not thrilled about is the lack of structure i've had in this time, so it will be good to get back on track. i'm mentally preparing for the flood of emails sure to start up again tomorrow.

today i went to my local Super Target for food and random beauty goodies. i took some pics of some of the newest items on display, and some items did end up in my basket, but i can only imagine the thoughts that went through the minds of those who saw me taking pics of those displays! lol!

i scoped out some new products from Covergirl, Maybelline, Revlon and L'Oreal, and was super-excited to see all of the new products! i ended up buying Maybelline's new Lash Stiletto mascara-- that i hear is amazing-- as well as the Matte Powder Blush from Revlon (it came with a bonus brush that i don't expect too much from). i did splurge on the new L'Oreal HiP Color Presso lippie ($11.99 each!), but figured it's more than one color that i was getting, and it is my job to bring you the latest and greatest, so that was enough justification for me! i also picked up some nail color (from Jessica and Sally Hansen) that i can't wait to wear and show you.

i can't wait to try out products i purchased! i hope they are all good, really i do, because i know many of you are in want for products that are inexpensive but still have quality. i mean, if you buy something cheap and never use it, it's money thrown away!

some other new products...

L'Oreal Kohl Eyeliner and Super Blendable Compact Makeup (covers like a liquid, but comes in compact form)

L'Oreal Made For Me Naturals eyeshadow quads, left, and Revlon's Age Defying Spa Foundation and Creme Lipgloss, right

the new Covergirl Eyelights mascara and Outlast Lipstains

i would have liked to have seen the Thakoon pieces in person (no, i still haven't seen them!), but a certain little boy wasn't being too pleasant, so we had to go. thankfully, it's now almost time for bed...

...and then a few precious hours to enjoy the quiet and savor the last bits of the slow down. :)

  1. Monique, I love all of your posts, but I especially love how you feature products that won't break the bank! It's comforting to know that in this economical time, we can still go to the drug store, or Target and find quality items!
    THANK YOU!
