beauty review: Chapstick Hydration Lock

here in my lovely corner of southern california, the temps have been dropping and the air is becoming more crisp and cool ~ just the way i love it. unfortunately, this type of weather also means moisture loss and potential dehydration for my skin! this includes my lips and that's something i don't love...

thankfully, Chapstick sent me their new Hydration Lock lip moisturizer ~ it's been keeping my pout so moisturized and smooth. and we beauty girls know our favorite lipsticks, stains and glosses go on and look much better on soft, smooth lips!

thanks to its beautiful ability to hydrate and keep in moisture {the formula is infused with hyaluronic spheres}, nourish {with antioxidants CoQ10 and vitamin E}, and just make my lips feel fabulous {it has a gorgeous texture and yummy vanilla creme flavor}, this lippie has found a secure place for itself in my beauty arsenal.

give your lips a treat and try Chapstick Moisture Lock for yourself! you can find it at your favorite  retailer. discover more at chapstick.com.

beauty on a budget: ChapStick True Shimmer

ChapStick is an essential, practical item. if you're like me, you find it that it does what it's supposed to do, and there's nothing glamorous or sophisticated about it. it definitely doesn't come in a very appealing package, but it is, however, a comfortable, trustworthy product, and as i mentioned before, essential.

the brand decided to jazz things up a bit, and added to its range new goodies called True Shimmer that i think are fun and still manage to be practical.

True Shimmer was created to give all the same lip-moisturizing benefits of a balm, but with a subtle, radiant shine. as soon as my daughter saw these, she gave me a look, and i didn't hesitate to say she could try them out. these are definitely something little girls can feel glamorous wearing and we moms can feel comfortable with them wearing it-- i mean come on, it's Chapstick.

ChapStick True Shimmer is available right now in Tropical and Botanical Berry, you'll soon find it in Blended Fruit Sherbet and Peppermint Rush flavors at a drugstore near you.

my favorite drugstore beauty buys 9.12.08

happy friday, all! how was your week?

mine, overall, was fabulous, and i am happy to end it by spending today with hubby. the kids are in school all day, and tonight they will each be spending the night at someone's house. so essentially, we have one full day and evening alone without the kids...yay!

oh, oops...was that a little too excited sounding?

moving on, this weeks beauty buys!

so what's in store this week? check it out:

ChapStick Lip Moisturizer SPF 15 happens to be the only lip balm that i will use from the drugstore. it isn't waxy or greasy feeling, and gives my lips a soft, smooth feeling. i admit that i don't use it every single day, but there are times when i really need something to moisturize my lips outside of a regular gloss. this also has an spf, so that makes it an even better product!

Gillete Satin Care Shave Gel in Alluring Avocado is an ultra moisturizing shave gel that doesn't smell like avocado, but rather a very light and fresh citrus-y floral. a little goes a long way with this one, as the gel creates a foam once you begin to smooth it over your legs. avocado oil helps to leave your skin feeling incredibly soft, with no cuts or razor burn!

Curel Targeted Therapy Fast-Absorbing Hand & Cuticle Cream isn't just for dry hands. you can use this fabulous product on elbows and heels as well! it does have a scent, something floral, but i don't really know what it is. in any case, it's a pleasant smell, and it doesn't bother me. another great fact about this hand cream? it lasts after many handwashings (especially fabulous if you like to, or have to, wash your hands a lot).

so what are your plans for the day or for the weekend? let me know in the comments!

hope you have an amazing weekend!
