Curel Itch Defense Skin Balancing Moisture Lotion

Curel recently introduced Itch Defense Skin Balancing Moisture Lotion, a lotion specifically for those with dry, itchy skin, including the most common type of eczema (intense skin itch).

i cannot tell you how excited i was when i learned about this!

you see, my daughter has eczema. while it was more serious when she was younger, she still experiences painful itching if she doesn't keep her skin properly moisturized. some lotions she has tried (blame me) have irritated her skin, causing her skin to itch even if it wasn't before.

she keeps the Curel in her room :)

she likes St. Ives 24 Hour Moisture Lotion, but when this Curel showed up on our doorstep, and i told her what it was specifically for, she was thrilled to be the "expert" to test it out. here are her thoughts (with a few of bits of info from me):

"i like this lotion a lot. it makes my skin feel soft and i like that (the non-greasy formula contains olive oil and shea butter). i don't really like the smell, but i don't mind because it's not strong (it's actually fragrance-free). my skin doesn't itch when i use it, but if i do feel it getting itchy, i use this and it helps right away (the formula works to restore skin's barrier function and help it retain more moisture)!"

thought i'd also point out: the National Eczema Association has given Curel's Itch Defense Lotion their seal of approval and it's safe for everyone from adults to babies to use.

even if you don't have eczema, you may still experience skin dryness as the weather cools down (i know i practically bathe in body lotions during the winter!), so i think this is a must-have product for everyone during the fall/winter season!

my favorite drugstore beauty buys 9.12.08

happy friday, all! how was your week?

mine, overall, was fabulous, and i am happy to end it by spending today with hubby. the kids are in school all day, and tonight they will each be spending the night at someone's house. so essentially, we have one full day and evening alone without the kids...yay!

oh, oops...was that a little too excited sounding?

moving on, this weeks beauty buys!

so what's in store this week? check it out:

ChapStick Lip Moisturizer SPF 15 happens to be the only lip balm that i will use from the drugstore. it isn't waxy or greasy feeling, and gives my lips a soft, smooth feeling. i admit that i don't use it every single day, but there are times when i really need something to moisturize my lips outside of a regular gloss. this also has an spf, so that makes it an even better product!

Gillete Satin Care Shave Gel in Alluring Avocado is an ultra moisturizing shave gel that doesn't smell like avocado, but rather a very light and fresh citrus-y floral. a little goes a long way with this one, as the gel creates a foam once you begin to smooth it over your legs. avocado oil helps to leave your skin feeling incredibly soft, with no cuts or razor burn!

Curel Targeted Therapy Fast-Absorbing Hand & Cuticle Cream isn't just for dry hands. you can use this fabulous product on elbows and heels as well! it does have a scent, something floral, but i don't really know what it is. in any case, it's a pleasant smell, and it doesn't bother me. another great fact about this hand cream? it lasts after many handwashings (especially fabulous if you like to, or have to, wash your hands a lot).

so what are your plans for the day or for the weekend? let me know in the comments!

hope you have an amazing weekend!
