when it comes to my skin, keeping it nourished and moisturized is important. when a product works well, the next thing that makes or breaks my decision to keep using it is the scent. this c. Booth Mimosa Honeysuckle Body Souffle not only keeps my skin feeling soft and smooth, but it smells incredible!

i'm all about floral and citrus-infused scents, so this blend of mimosa flower, coconut, grapefruit and orange were happy-making from first smell. with it's tropical, bright and sweet fragrance, this soufflé is fabulous for summer. the rich blend of oils and skin soothers melts beautifully in to my skin and never feels heavy, so i love using it even on the hottest days.

spring beauty: Sunday Riley Disrobe body lotion

the luxury brand, Sunday Riley, offers pampering through their range of beauty and skincare products, including a product i'm loving right now ~ Disrobe Body Lotion.

for the past few weeks i've been using the lactic acid-based Disrobe, and from first use it's been fabulous; i've relished the silky texture and non-greasy formula as well as its light, practically non-existent fragrance. softening and hydrating, it never ceases to leave my skin feeling and looking  smoother!

you may be wondering, how is it able to work so well?

humectants in Disrobe pull water into the skin, while shea butter and squalene hydrate and repair to  lock in moisture; as mentioned before, lactic acid is also a main ingredient, which aids in gently exfoliating skin to improve tone and texture. other benefits of Disrobe include detoxification and improved elasticity.

Bath & Body Works Summer Vanillas

as the weather heats up, it's time to start thinking about how you want to smell. i like to go the citrus or floral route, but Bath & Body Works caught my attention with their new Summer Vanillas collection.

i'm not usually a vanilla girl, but the idea of creamier versions of smells i already like was very appealing. Coconut, Berry, Lemon and Apricot (which is only online, otherwise i would have bought it in store, too) compliment vanilla to create fabulously cool and refreshing summer scents.



while the collection features, body sprays, candles, etc., i couldn't resist getting a lotion-- the amazing new formula makes my skin so soft-- and Liplicious gloss-- they smell delicious, are glossy without being sticky and have a hint of shimmer-- in each scent (it was buy 2 get 1 and i had a $10 off coupon, too-- yay me!). my daughter went absolutely gaga for the all of them, too, so i will share. :)

Curel Itch Defense Skin Balancing Moisture Lotion

Curel recently introduced Itch Defense Skin Balancing Moisture Lotion, a lotion specifically for those with dry, itchy skin, including the most common type of eczema (intense skin itch).

i cannot tell you how excited i was when i learned about this!

you see, my daughter has eczema. while it was more serious when she was younger, she still experiences painful itching if she doesn't keep her skin properly moisturized. some lotions she has tried (blame me) have irritated her skin, causing her skin to itch even if it wasn't before.

she likes St. Ives 24 Hour Moisture Lotion, but when this Curel showed up on our doorstep, and i told her what it was specifically for, she was thrilled to be the "expert" to test it out. here are her thoughts (with a few of bits of info from me):

"i like this lotion a lot. it makes my skin feel soft and i like that (the non-greasy formula contains olive oil and shea butter). i don't really like the smell, but i don't mind because it's not strong (it's actually fragrance-free). my skin doesn't itch when i use it, but if i do feel it getting itchy, i use this and it helps right away (the formula works to restore skin's barrier function and help it retain more moisture)!"



thought i'd also point out: the National Eczema Association has given Curel's Itch Defense Lotion their seal of approval and it's safe for everyone from adults to babies to use.

even if you don't have eczema, you may still experience skin dryness as the weather cools down (i know i practically bathe in body lotions during the winter!), so i think this is a must-have product for everyone during the fall/winter season!

review: Bliss Naked Body Butter

Bliss Naked Body Butter is everything a girl could want from her body cream: it's thick with out being heavy, absorbs well, makes skin fabulously soft and has absolutely no scent.

i like to use this at night (when skin is most receptive to treatments), so i can wake up with the most smooth skin. i love lotion, and can't sleep if i don't moisturize before i hit the pillow.

i also like to use during the day, in the moring after a shower, after washing my hands, just because, etc, etc....

you get the idea!

but seriously, this really is a great product. it costs a little more than some are willing to pay for a body cream ($35 for 8.5oz), but hey, i know some of you have your luxury products that you wouldn't trade for anything, so you understand, right?

review: Elizabeth Grant Vitamin C Body Lotion.

Elizabeth Grant Vitamin C Body Lotion was created not only to give skin moisture, but also to give it a defense against free radical damage. by infusing it with vitamin C, an amazing antioxidant that does the defending, the skin is able to build itself up and remain strong. it also contains something called Torricelemn, a moisturizing compound that includes kelp and other vitamins and minerals, that was developed by Elizabeth Grant herself and is found in many of her products.

this lotion, with it's light citrus smell (love it!), is actually quite luxurious without being too up-ity. it absorbs quickly, and my skin loves it! it has been the lotion i reach for on my nightstand the most lately, and not just because i planned on reviewing it-- i will keep using this until it's gone!

my only issue is the packaging, a mustard yellow tube that looks a bit dated. nothing too exciting to look at. other than that, this is really good stuff. so remember, it's what's on the inside that counts!
