Origins Modern Friction

Origins doesn't want you to have to scrub your face with harsh, chemical crystals, so they have created Modern Friction, a rice starch cushioned in cream, to gently slough off dead skin cells, reverse damage and get rid of discolorations. lemon oil starts the process of illumination, while aloe keeps skin calm and comfy. there's no ouch, extra steps or other complications. no redness or flaking follows, and the perk-me-up aromas of bergamot and peppermint help you look on the bright side.

from the reviews online, this is definitely something i want to try! stay tuned...

review: Bioelements Beyond Hydration

Bioelements makes some of the most unique skincare products available, and Beyond Hydration is definitely one of them! this high-end, botanically based skin care product line is expertly crafted with a blend of plant extracts, aromatherapy oils, trace minerals and other natural ingredients. addressing a wide range of skin concerns, it's great for both men and women and skin issues from acne to wrinkles.

light-weight, oil-free and fortified with moisturizing phosopholipids, this product also contains astringent plant extracts to hydrate and strengthen the skin without clogging pores or causing breakouts. it's a non-greasy, refreshing gel perfect for us with oilier skin. it can be used day and night.

i fell in love with this product the moment i used it. i am amazed at how refreshed my skin feels and how well my skin responds to it. no dehydration is apparent (no lines or tightness), and that is such a fabulous thing! before i began using Beyond Hydration, i frequently would experience lines in my forehead (yikes!) and excessive oiliness-- my two red flags when it comes to knowing my skin needs moisture. now after two weeks, my skin looks fabulous and the oiliness is in check!

i use this gel in the morning after cleansing and before my sunscreen. at night i apply it the same way, but follow it with the Recovery Serum (my review on that will follow soon!). i wake up with refreshed skin that isn't drowning in oil...love it!

some other great points as well: all of the Bioelements products are not tested on animals, are free of any mineral oil, artificial colorants, synthetic fragrances, or animal by-products.

Lisa Hoffman Skincare

Lisa Hoffman Skincare was created by Lisa Hoffman (yes, Dustin's wife) to help women achieve great skin and still have the ability to take it with them for travel.

i went to L.A. this past weekend, and i had to pack all of my facial products in such a way that they would travel well. it wasn't easy, but i figured it out. if it had been possible, i would have shrunk everything to a smaller size!

Lisa Hoffman had this same issue before she created her skincare line. she desired a better way to pack her skincare to travel with her. so she designed her packaging two ways: for home and for travel.

whether you are a frequent traveler or just a woman "on-the-go", traditional skincare packaging consisting of large jars or bottles can be inconvenient and ungainly, and can make maintaining a high quality skin care regimen a hassle. the Night & Day skincare packettes make skincare portable so that it is easy to throw in your handbag, glove compartment, desk drawer, or overnight bag.

such a fabulous innovative line, Lisa Hoffman Skincare creates the best of two worlds. now we don't have to decide what products to take when we have somewhere to go. just take it all!

stay tuned for my review of the Spa Facial Packette...

24 hour moisture

St. Ives, in my opinion, creates some of the best beauty care products. the always celebrated apricot scrub is in every beauty girl's collection of must-haves. i have used many of their lotions in past years, and have never been dissatisfied.

24-Hour Moisture Advanced Therapy Lotion works to not only to replenish moisture, but to retain it all day. whether or not it actually moisturizes for 24 hours is still a mystery to me. this is do to the fact that i apply it once in the morning and once at night before bed (when skin is most receptive to moisture). i also apply it to my children's skin, as they, too have extremely dry skin. i love the fact that this product is non-greasy, absorbs quickly and retails for less than $4. this formula has no heavy fragrance, so it doesn't interfere with any other fragrance you might want to wear.

i really enjoy this lotion, the weather is still cool and dry, and for around $4, it's worth a try!
