hair therapy: Karmin G3 Salon Pro Styling Iron

when it comes to flat irons, it's safe to say i have plenty of experience and have used many to know the difference between a good flat iron and a fabulous one. for the past couple of weeks, i've been using one that falls in the latter category. it's the where-have-you-been-all-my-life styling iron from Karmin ~ the Salon Pro G3 styling iron; this hair tool has really impressed this beauty girl and i can easily say it's worth checking out!

if you heat style your hair on a regular basis, you may have at some point experienced the negative effects of it. thankfully, more and more fabulous hair products and tools have been developed with the ingredients and/or technology to combat it. i when it comes to hair dryers, the Karmin Salon Professional G3 Salon Pro Hair Dryer is in that camp.

i was sent this Karmin dryer to try and wow {!!} is it amazing!

with its powerful 1875 watts, ceramic heating coils and ionic technology, what i experienced was seriously fast drying and a smooth blow out {which i confess, i only did to half my hair since i'm a bit out of practice...i have my flat iron habit to thank for that}.

i've mentioned this many times, but i exclusively use a flat iron to smooth and curl all my hair. since i typically only use hair dryers to help dry up excess moisture pre-flat ironing, i was quite impressed with how fast i was able to get through this step with the G3 Pro. this was certainly a benefit when i found myself pressed for time and in a hurry to get my hair done just a few days ago.

hair therapy: InStyler Rotating Hot Iron Hair Straightener

you may have seen the InStyler Rotating Hot Iron Hair Straightener on tv or in a local store. i know the first time i saw it on an infomercial (about a year ago), i thought it looked like a good product that could work well on my hair.

when it comes to doing my own hair, i have styling down to 45 minutes (that's from just-washed, towel-dried to finished). this, of course, has taken me years to master. when given the opportunity to try the InStyler on my hair, i was excited to try something new.

it definitely took some getting used to.

in terms of using it, i found the rotating barrel/brush easy enough to catch on to. it was the amount of time it took with each section of hair that left me feeling impatient. with this tool, it's important to keep a proper amount of tension between hair and the barrel, while also rolling it through hair at a slow pace.

sorry InStyler, but i didn't have time for this. after 30 minutes, i wasn't even halfway through my enough-hair-for-ten-people amount of hair, and i had things to do. after three more attempts on three different days (i really wanted this to work for me, beauties, i did), i have come to one conclusion...



the InStyler is best for those who have less hair and/or more time. or maybe i've been doing my hair with my flat iron for so long (using it to straighten or curl) that i haven't given it enough time. i will say that i do like using it for little touch-ups.
