new fragrance: Vera Wang Be Jeweled

if there's a part of a beauty-loving girl's life that's uber personal, it's fragrance. for me, not only does it reflect a significant part of who i am, but projects my current mood {and in some cases, the mood i'd prefer to be in}, and can change as seasons come and go...

if you you're a regular reader, you know i j'adore scents with floral and citrus notes. i'm most attracted to those that are light, sweet but not-too-sweet, feminine, lush and just pretty; on occasion i find a perfume with warmer notes that i like, so i maybe i could be called a sophisticated girly-girl when it comes to perfume preference {is that a category??}

what i'm {finally} getting at is this: Vera Wang has released a new perfume called Be Jeweled that sounds like i {and maybe you, too} would love...

top notes:
a blend of red currant, pomegranate and champagne

heart:
fruity zests of passion fruit combined with pink honeysuckle and pink peony

base notes:
accords of pink crystal-sugar accompanied with a sensual trail of musk and australian sandalwood

i haven't smelled it yet {hopefully i will soon}, but i just had to share. doesn't it sound lovely? not to mention the bottle is gorgeous!

and of course, so is the ad. definitely fun and oh-so glam...

new fragrance: S by Shakira

looking for a new fragrance? i've read in a couple of my november mags that Shakira’s very first fragrance, S By Shakira, is one to check out. after being contacted by email about it, i had to share with you (it sounds like it smells wonderful!).

S by Shakira Eau de Toilette comes in three sizes-- 0.5 oz, 1 oz and 1.7 oz-- and has the following notes:

top: bright jasmine - a bouquet of white flowers, dominated by the richness and voluptuousness of sambac jasmine
middle: fresh sandalwood - a woody note, full of richness, texture and sensuality
base: vanilla - a fusion of resins; this is the base and the soul of Shakira’s perfume.

the bottle design is described as a direct reflection and expression of Shakira as an artist with high-quality cut glass that has a feeling of movement like a sensual oriental dancer.

Flora by Gucci Eau de Parfum

Flora by Gucci Eau de Parfum, a follow-up to Flora by Gucci Eau de Toilette, is the newest scent from the brand. this new scent still "captures the freshness of Flora" as the foundation, but "with more sensuality", according to Gucci creative director, Frida Giannini.

she goes on to say that "the Eau de Parfum feels a bit more grown up. i think it will still appeal to our Flora customer but now she has the choice of whether she wants to keep her scent light and easy or a bit more rich and dramatic for evening. it is for a different moment in the same woman's life."

Giannini relied upon the same base of rose and osmanthus flower balanced by sandalwood and patchouli for the scent's structure, but made the notes stronger and more sultry in the Eau de Parfum. the effect is more intense and luxurious, but will also last longer on the skin.

included in the range will be a special collection of luxury gifts that will launch in exclusive locations including a white scented candle decorated with the black Flora pattern, a luxury purse spray, and a solid fragrance packaged in a sophisticated gold metal compact.

Avon & Zoe Saldana Introduce Eternal Magic

Avatar star Zoe Saldana has just signed on as the newest face of Avon's upcoming fragrance, Eternal Magic and will also be featured in the company's brochure as a face of Avon's color cosmetics collection in the coming months.



according to the Avon press release, Zoe says: "i'm very proud to be working with Avon and to be the face of Eternal Magic. it means so much to me to be associated with a company that shares my values and believes in empowering women."

Eternal Magic is set for release in april, 2010.

Britney Spears' New Fragrance Ad

Britney Spears will be launching her seventh fragrance called Hidden Fantasy. at left, is the ad for the perfume set to launch on january 2009. the scent is described in a press release as being "all about expressing the many, mysterious sides of a woman."

in the television ad, Spears will appear through trees in a forest and ask, "what do you have to hide?"

Spears already has six perfumes: Curious, Fantasy, In Control, Midnight Fantasy, Believe and Curious Heart.
