beauty review: Smashbox Camera Ready BB Cream Eyes

as i grow older more fabulous, i've found myself using concealer under my eyes on a more frequent basis. the use of eye creams, anti-aging serums, gels and the like are not new to me, and i'm a huge fan of highlighting/illuminating products. so, as one might expect, when i was introduced to Smashbox BB Camera Ready for Eyes, i was obviously very curious and excited to try the new multitasker.

 and it is a multitasker!

not just a concealer, this beauty is also a treatment, a primer, an illuminator and offers spf 15 sun protection.

love it!

and just when you think it can't do any more, it does. BB for Eyes can also be used to highlight your brow bones, giving your face a more lifted appearance, and you can use it when contouring around the cheeks, creating a more defined look.

hair therapy: AG Hair introduces BB Cream total benefit primer + Deflect heat protectant spray

since a good hair day almost always equals a better day, i have two products you are sure to give you this exact thing...

AG Hair recently sent me 2 new products from their Colour Care range: BB Cream hair primer and Deflect, a heat protection spray.

with all the BB and CC cream popularity going on here in skincare, i was understandably skeptical when i was first introduced to the BB cream total benefit hair primer for hair. seriously?! i mean, don't get me wrong, i appreciate {love} BB creams and i find them very helpful {an absolute must-have}. and just like the skincare, AG BB cream works in the same way…you know, just for your hair.

here's how:

it's a moisturizer {thanks to hydrolyzed keratin, wheat protein and silk amino acids}; it protects against harsh elements {like high heat styling tools}; fills in the cuticle of the hair for a smother-looking finish; helps set your future style and offers UV protection {african moringa seed extract aids in this} to prevent hair color from fading.

overall, the BB cream has worked like a dream ~ i love it. the fact that it's a multitasker is my fave {if you know me, you know what i mean…}, but it also just works: it makes my hair smoother, acting like a base for whatever other styling products i choose to use and it doesn't weigh my hair down.

Deflect fast-dry heat protection spray is a product that could easily be used following the BB cream. spray on damp hair, style and voila! gorgeous hair in less time {did i mention it shortens dry time?}. but since i'm not one to only use any product in just one way, i also used it on my dry hair for touch-ups before using my flat iron or waver tools. it too is lightweight, and the extra uv protection is always a must!

AG hair products are cruelty free!

these two hair gems are certainly impressive. if i had to choose one to add to my list of yearly favorites {i know, it's early, but...}, i would definitely add the BB cream. it's different and unlike anything i've ever used! of course, i shouldn't be surprised that AG has created another innovative, fabulous product ~ what am i thinking? LOL…

:)

if you haven't tried their products? what are you waiting for??

BB cream and Deflect will be available online march 1, 2014. visit aghair.com now {you can come back to see me…i'll be here} and find out how to order or find a salon that carries the brand near you.

beauty review: Kinara Weightless Infusion

combining cutting-edge peptides, powerful antioxidants and lightening agents to create a lightweight primer, Kinara Weightless Infusion has become a favorite in my skincare routine. while i've been testing other products, i've found this serum to also be a perfectly lovely compliment.

benefits:
~ firms skin by building collagen and elastin
~ preserves the skin from oxidative stresses
~improves DNA protection
~ protects against glycation damage
~fast-acting line reducer
~ brightens and lightens skin tone to discoloration
~ ultimate anti-aging product
~ quickly revives and refreshes stressed and environmentally compromised skin
~excellent primer to any other skin preparation

in my personal experience, this clear, silky formula absorbs into my skin quickly, getting straight to its {hydrating} job. after using for the past several months, i'm happy that Weightless has left my skin all glowy and pretty. it looks more healthy, well-hydrated, smooth and rested.

perfect for all skin types, Kinara Weightless Infusion can be found at Kinara Skin Clinic and Spa, independent spas and retailers nationwide, and online at kinaraspa.com.

cleanse and prep with products from DHC

inspired by olive oil, the DHC brand produces products that lend themselves to creating gorgeous skin and makeup looks, and it just so happens that i've been using two products in particular that i've become quite smitten with.

allow me to introduce them to you...

being that i'm a fan of double cleansing, i was thrilled when the opportunity to try the best-seller, Deep Cleansing Oil came up {if you're unfamiliar with this method of facial cleansing, it's quite simple: wash your skin first to remove dirt/makeup/yuckiness of the day, then follow with a treatment cleanser; one that addresses your skin concerns like acne, discoloration, wrinkles, etc.}.

from packaging to ingredients, i greatly appreciate the simplicity of Deep Cleansing Oil -- it says what it does and does what it says! it effectively removes all makeup {including my favorite long-wearing foundation} and pampers my skin ~ i love how soft it leaves it feeling!

in the makeup department, DHC also has a splendid gem in the form of a primer called Velvet Skin Coat. this silky formula looks like a gel when squeezed onto fingertips, yet feels more like powder when applied. it creates a smooth finish, controls oil, and, if you choose to wear it, keeps foundation in place all day.
