beauty review: Cover FX CC Cream Time Release Tinted Treatment SPF 30

my first CC cream experience has been a good one, thanks to the fabulous brand, CoverFX. i went to my local Sephora recently, picked up a sample, and as expected {because i've had only good experiences with the brand's products i've tried in the past}, this new skincare/makeup gem is one i think you should try, too!

CC creams have quickly become popular following the rise of the BB in the past year or so. these  color-correcting products address skin issues, such as sallowness or redness, and like BB creams, contain SPF to protect skin from harmful damage.

the thing i like about Cover FX's CC is the fact that there is such a wide range of shades to choose from {10 in all}. the brand is actually known for the fabulous, flawless coverage their makeup gives; and if you have any experience with them, you know the powerhouse coverage truly feels like wearing nothing at all.

what i love about this CC cream it is a brilliant multi-tasker; it covers gorgeously, but still looks natural, makes skin look more even, and is infused with anti-aging ingredients to help improve skin over time. it's suited for all skin types and free of ingredients that may irritate skin.

i could gush on and on about this Cover FX CC cream {and its loooong name, LOL}, but i won't because i think you should just try it for yourself ~ i'm definitely a fan and will definitely purchase it in a full size. :)

Summer Beauty: Shine-Control Products

with summer comes skin that has a nice glow...

oh, who am i kidding? it's crazy shine! combination and oily (sometimes even dry) skin types can act, um, differently in the summer (i like to call them oil fits). i know i'm especially prone to glowing more-- can you relate? to control this, mattifying or shine-control products applied before applying tinted moisturizer, foundation or powder is critical for keeping your (and my) oily skin in check.

here are some to consider:

MAC Shine Control Lotion is a light, oil-free formula designed to keep skin in balance. it contains antioxidants to give skin a treat, and it absorbs beautifully into skin. for the rest of the day it keeps skin balanced, preventing oil production from going into overdrive.

Dermelect Cosmeceuticals Pore Revolution & T-Zone Mattifier (pictured at top) is a powdery cream that works to control shine, reduce the appearance of large, clogged pores, and also contains salicylic acid and watercress extract to keep skin clear.

Philosophy Never Let Them See You Shine Primer works best when patted onto skin. the soothing product helps control shine during the day and can even be applied over makeup.

Smashbox Anti-Shine offers skin to a cool, refreshing, water-based option. this gel-to-powder formula gives skin a natural, matte finish that lasts through a 6-8 hour day.

CoverFX Clearprep FX Matte Foundation Primer and Anti-Acne Treatment uses its dermaveil-matte technology to control shine and treats problem skin with willowbark extract (a beta-hydroxyacid), salicylic acid, and natural fruit alpha-hydroxy acids. smooths skin to prep for makeup, but can be used alone.

tell me: what is your favorite shine-control product?

review: Cover FX MintGlaze FX

Cover FX's MintGlaze FX is minty, as the name suggests, and a hydrating lip treatment that works to get lips in lipstick (or gloss)-ready condition.

it even has SPF 15!

typically, i apply MintGlaze to my lips in the morning after my skincare products. as i apply my makeup, the cool minty flavor helps wake my lips up, and by the time i'm finished, my pout is smooth and ready for whatever lippie i decide to wear for the day.

this very simple, and easy to use, product is one i highly recommend you own yourself-- i love it! if you prefer to try before you buy, head to your local Sephora and ask them for a sample to take home for yourself!

visit sephora.com for more info on all Cover FX products.

Cover FX Total Coverage Cream Foundation gives full, flawless coverage, lasts all day and is good for my skin!

this creamy foundation goes on smooth, blends well (my color, B15, matches my skin perfectly!), and covers all of my imperfections without feeling heavy-- i don't even need a concealer when i use this-- it's amazing! i don't know how i even lived without this for 28 years (well, i didn't really start wearing makeup when i was born, but you know what i mean)!

can you tell i'm a fan of this product?! Cover FX Total Coverage Cream is brilliant!this fabulous company helps women achieve a flawless face without causing breakouts or irritation--what could be better?

well, let me tell you...

with 40 shades to choose from you're sure to find that perfect match, it contains SPF 30 (love that!), vitamin E and antioxidants to help fight and protect against signs of environmental damage, easily conceals more severe conditions like scars, birthmarks and rosacea, and Cover FX Cream Foundation is also ideal for covering tattoos.

so if you're looking for something like this, check out Cover FX at sephora.com while the Cover FX website is still being constructed. :)
