fall beauty: new collections from INGLOT

hope you're enjoying your weekend so far, beauties! i have some beautiful news for you {you'll definitely appreciate it if you're already a fan of the brand}...

INGLOT has launched two new collections today!

these two collections include HD Perfect Coverup Foundation, enriched with white truffle extract to keep skin balanced, and the Fall in Love collection is a grouping of new frosty, metallic shades {with romantic names like Golden Brown, Fields of Gold, Fine Pine, Silver Blues, and Rosé Mist} that will join the other beautiful shades existing in the brand's gel eyeliners, eyeshadows, and nail enamels.

take a look…

AMC Eyeliner Gel are high intensity pigments that provide ideal coverage and rich colors after just one application. the new shades boast calm, delicate shades in the creamy and delicate long lasting formula that dries in 60 seconds to a waterproof, smudge proof, and crease proof finish.

the gorgeous new nail enamels in the new shades still provide durability and high gloss finish. i'm told the drying time is short to medium, and the formula does not contain toluene, formaldehyde, dibutyl phthalate or camphor.

the INGLOT eye shadows contain special silicones and treated pigments; the new colors feature the same high lubricity and silky feel to create an easy, smooth, long lasting, and crease resistant application.

and finally, the HD Perfect Coverup Foundation is formulated with a hypoallergenic formula that promises to provide long lasting coverage, conceal discoloration and other imperfections, as well as provide a natural, flawless finish. available in 8 shades, the new skin perfecting foundations adjust to each skin tone and prevents excess shine.

so, are you excited about the new INGLOT additions? i think they look perfect for the current fall season and will certainly make the winter months absolutely beautiful!

beauty review: Shiseido Future Solution LX Total Radiance Foundation spf 20

happy wednesday, lovesare you having a beautiful week

if you're anything like me, any day can be made better by treating yourself to a new beauty goodie. i love discovering something new and adding it to my beauty buy or get-more-info-about list {please tell me you do this, too!}.

all of this is to tell you that Shiseido has a new product {actually 2 more, but i'll get to that in a minute} and it should bring a smile to your face ~ you should be excited about it...

i certainly am!

the luxury brand has added color products to their fabulous Future Solution LX Collectionwhat i'm gushing about specifically is the fabulous full coverage Future Solution LX Total Radiance Foundation SPF20.

available in 11 shades {i use B60}, this gem utilizes new light technology to create radiant skin; with its creamy, lightweight formula, it creates a gorgeous tone to my skin and keeps it looking great all day.

in addition to the coverage, the new Radiance Foundation has skincare benefits. ingredients in the formula aid in reducing visible signs of aging like loss of firmness, wrinkles, visible pores and uneven skin tone.

i'm loving this fusion of skincare and makeup ~ you should definitely consider checking out for yourself. the luxe Future LX collection also includes a loose powder that can be worn alone or used to set the foundation. it's also a multi-tasker. :)

beauty review: Lorac POREfection foundation

oil, paraben and fragrance free…just a few of the standout features of the new LORAC POREfection Poreless Foundation {oh, and it also contains SPF 20}.

in addition, this new foundation is infused with anti-aging antioxidants: vitamins A and E, olive leaf extract, lemon fruit extract and papaya fruit extract. these ingredients help soothe, nourish and rejuvenate, and as i'm sure you already know, the SPF 20 provides protection from uva/uvb rays.

Carol Shaw, creator of LORAC says, "when formulating POREfection Foundation, i combined the best of nature {natural ingredients} and the best of science to create a makeup that performs ~ it has great slip and full coverage with a natural finish…i love the professional look and feel of this makeup."

the shade sent to me {PR-8 golden tan} unfortunately was one shade too light, but this didn't really seem to be an issue once my full face was on {and i was able to be a little more liberal with my bronzer, LOL}. i wore it daily for a good week {indoors and out} and i wore it alternating between other foundations from day to day for another week. needless to say, i got to know this foundation quite well...

it's not a long-wearing foundation, but i found it performed well enough. i like that the coverage is buildable, never cakey looking, and the finish is natural. i did have to do touch-ups of my makeup after about 6 hours {sometimes 4-5 hours depending on the day} because it did begin to wear off. and in case you were wondering, i always use a primer, and i applied it in various ways ~ sometimes with my fingers, sometime a sponge and/or with a brush.

my favorite thing about POREfection {that i wish my beloved drugstore foundations would adopt} is the pump. it's the fabulous kind of pump that pushes the product up as it's used {love that} so nothing is wasted and it keeps the foundation sanitary. i also appreciate that POREfection is a true multitasker. not only does it set out to keep skin healthy, youthful-looking and radiant, but provides good coverage and is suitable for all skin types, including sensitive skin. :)

while this wasn't an absolute i-can't-live-without-this-foundation home run for me, and i truly believe that makeup experiences, preferences and the like are personal, i definitely think LORAC POREfection is worth trying for yourself! find out more by visiting loraccosmetics.com. you can also visit your local Kohl's or Sephora to see/try it in person!

beauty review: Hourglass Immaculate Liquid Powder Foundation

when a foundation acts as skincare, it can obviously be put into the much-appreciated category of multi-tasker {and we all love multi-taskers, right?}. so since Immaculate Liquid Powder Foundation, the high-tech foundation from Hourglass, acts as such, it easily falls into this category...

not only is this buildable fluid great for creating a flawless finish on the skin, but it incorporates cashmere kaolinite clay, an exceptional, skin-loving oil absorber {shine, be gone!}. Immaculate is also oil-free, humidity-proof, water-resistant, and treats acne-prone skin so well that {over time, with continued use} it improves its appearance.

but wait, there's more...

i've already mentioned the buildability {wow, is that a word? ha!}, but you should also know that it dries to a powder finish {love that}, feels like wearing nothing, and really lasts, making my skin look amazing all day.

it sounds too good to be true, right?

sure, but trust me, it's true! i really, really think this is a fabulous foundation.

oh! and do you see that gorgeous, fluffy brush? it's the brush No. 2 and a multi-tasker, too. its soft {so luxuriously soft!!} bristles {made from taklon, a perfect alternative for those sensitive to animal hair} can be used wet or dry, meaning it applies and blend liquids {like Immaculate foundation} beautifully, as well as powders {like your favorite blush}!

the only issue i had with Immaculate was the color {full disclosure: it was sent to me by the brand's rep, so i didn't choose it}; it was just slightly too dark. fortunately, i was still able to wear it, and like i said, it is fabulous.

you can find Hourglass Immaculate Liquid Powder Foundation in stores {like Sephora} and online; for more info, visit hourglasscosmetics.com.

natural beauty: Mia Mariu Mineral Foundations

bonjour, beauties...

hope you're enjoying your wednesday!

as i type this, i'm having mixed feelings. it's that time of year again ~ my kids are going back to school next week. for the most part, i'm thrilled to once again have part of the day alone to myself, but there's that other part of me that is in denial {and yes, a little sad} over the fact that they'll be in 7th and 4th grades {my daughter and son, respectively}.

it's just a bit much to think about...

so, let's dish about some beauty products instead!

a few posts ago, i shared a bit about really enjoying Mia Mariu's Loose Mineral Powder Foundation. i'm happy to report, this is still the case!

this beauty blends gorgeously into my skin, covering imperfections, leaving it looking healthy and natural. i also love that it's packed with vitamins A, C and E to nourish my skin as i go through my day.

its pretty sister, Mineral Cream Foundation, gives skin a smooth, even finish thanks to a hydrating, oil-free, buildable formula. the coverage is great, it wears well, but never feels heavy.

of the two products, i'd have to say the loose powder foundation is my favorite; it works well on its own, but is fabulous as a finishing powder to set any other liquid or cream foundation i might wear.

at least i'll have a happy-looking complexion as i send my kids off to their new teachers, right? :)

review: Per-fekt Skin & Cheek Perfection Gels

it goes without saying, but multitasking products are a must in every beauty girls' supply. Per-fekt Skin Perfection Gel {introduced to me during awards season, and used by celebs like Reese Witherspoon, Blake Lively and Jennifer Love Hewitt} is one of those products. not only does it offer lightweight, skin-enhancing results, but reduces redness and discoloration, keeps skin hydrated, controls shine, and is packed with antioxidants to boot!

Skin Perfection Gel isn't like most foundations. the unique formula is a gel-mousse hybrid of sorts, available in 5 skin-loving shades {4 if you don't count translucent as a shade} with smart color technology. while it's buildable, it doesn't provide completely full coverage. it's also unique in that it is to be applied by patting on rather than rubbing in {the shade i use, by the way, is called rich}. the finish is smooth and matte, which i love, plus water and sweat resistant ~ perfekt {sorry, i couldn't help it} for the warm-weather season!

after creating a glowing complexion you'll, of course, need a gorgeous compliment of color! the Cheek Perfection Gel {available in 2 shades, blushed, pictured, and bronzed} is an amazing blush that gives cheeks a natural-looking flush. and because it's so concentrated, a very tiny bit goes a long way. simply warm between fingertips, dot onto cheeks and gently pat in for your most flattering color.

if you hadn't already guessed, i love the both the Skin and Cheek Perfection Gels. they're innovative, all-natural and such a lovely treat to use.

review: Laura Mercier Oil Free Supreme Foundation

to give skin smooth-looking, flawless texture it's the base that will give you the best result...

i'm no stranger to foundation {i've used my share in 32 years!}, and though i've found my holy grail, i've been using the new Laura Mercier Oil Free Supreme Foundation for the past few weeks...

the formula feels light on my skin, blends well and is buildable in coverage. it promises up to 8 hours of wear and actually went beyond that {i did use a primer and makeup setting spray} under average wear. it contains skin-loving antioxidants, and because of its non-drying, oil-free ingredients, is great for most skin types.

the overall finish of Supreme is beautiful. it did streak when faced with moisture {in the form of sweat and tears from laughing or crying}, but it doesn't claim to stand up against any elements, so that was easy to get over. it doesn't contain spf, and unfortunately, i did have to mix two shades to create my perfect match...

the brand was gracious enough to send me two of their dark shades, Sunset Beige and Toffee Bronze. i did find the lighter shade {Sunset Beige} was better, if i had to choose one, but blending them together was best. since this line is permanent, i'm hoping more shades will be added {at least one shade between Sunset and Toffee, please :)} to fill in the gaps.

no, this isn't a perfect foundation, but i still think it's good. if you can find the shade best suited for you, it's definitely worth giving a try. of course, you can always get a sample first {from Sephora or your nearest Laura Mercier counter}.

Laura Mercier Oil Free Supreme is available now. visit lauramercier.com for more info!

luxe & organic: Vapour Organic Beauty

hello beauties!

as another month is coming to a close {yikes, this month flew by!} and the spring season slowly blooms, i'm excited to share some gorgeous products from Vapour Organic Beauty i've been using over the past several weeks.

lovely and luxe, each of these products not only make you look good, but are also made with organic ingredients so they're good for you!

oh, and just as a little pop culture/celeb side note, Jessica Alba recently gushed over a few of these products...

the first product i have to share is Atmosphere Soft Focus Foundation {swatched below with and without a flash}. the shade sent to me for this review is a tad too dark, but worked gorgeously as a liquid bronzer thanks to its natural skin luminizers. the finish is dewy and pretty, the formula feels light, and {when used as a foundation} is buildable so you can add more product to places that you may require more coverage.

creating flawless skin typically requires a concealer, and for this the Beauty Illusionist is fabulous. it easily covers imperfections, blending away dark spots and blemishes and is housed in a sleek tube, making it purse and travel-friendly.

Luxe Organic Lip Conditioner treats lips with jojoba seed, beeswax and coconut oils. one of my new lip-loving faves, i like to apply this when i begin my makeup application. by the end of it, my lips are soft and ready for whatever lip color i choose to apply. one to try...Siren Lipstick.

another lippie standout is the Elixer Plumping Gloss. of course, let's be honest, my lips aren't in need of plumping, but i simply j'adore this gloss! the non-stinging formula contains antioxidants, lip-loving skin-hydrators and has a gorgeously glossy, not-too-sticky finish. the shade pictured is called Vivid, a stunning fuchsia with silver flecks.

let's not forget the eyes! Vapour Organic Beauty's Mesmerize Eyeliner & Smoky Eye Tool applies and blends beautifully. whether i used it to create a defined cat-eye or {with help from the built-in smudger} a glamorous, smoked-out finish, the result lasted for hours and never irritated my eyes.

be sure to visit Vapour Organic Beauty's website for more info on these products. find them on facebook & follow the brand on twitter!

beauty on a budget: Maybelline SuperStay 24HR Makeup

long-wearing foundation is a great option for me because i have oily skin. some formulas just slide off of my face no matter how well i prep before applying them. Maybelline's new SuperStay 24HR Makeup promises 24 hour wear and no rub off. so how does it compare to my HG makes-me-look-flawless-no-matter-what-and-doesn't-go-anywhere-until-i-take-it-off foundation, Double Wear by Estee Lauder?

here's the scoop:

i was a bit sceptical, and not really looking forward to using this foundation, but i had to get over myself and just do it (and i did spend my own money on it!). to really put it to the test, i decided to take it through one of my 1 1/2 hour workouts (hey, it says right on the bottle that it lasts through heat, sweat and humidity, i had to do it!).

so, i ran for 30 minutes then took a 1 hour spin class. by the end of both, i was impressed with what i saw. there was foundation on my towel, but my "face" didn't look like it was melting off. of course, the makeup wasn't perfect if you looked at it really close, but i thought it held up well considering what i had just put it through.

following my extreme experiment, i decided to be fair and wear it for a week under normal conditions-- just everyday life. the formula has a buildable coverage, and is a bit thicker in consistency compared to DW. i noticed it didn't always look great by the end of the day, but overall, it kept decent coverage, held up well and removed easily at the end of the day.

one thing i really am not happy about is the lack of shades available (only 12). my shade, Caramel, is the lighter of the only two dark shades. i realize this is a typical issue with drugstore foundations, but this could always change.

have you tried Maybelline SuperStay 24HR Makeup? what do you think?

Beauty on a Budget: L'Oreal True Match Roller Foundation

drugstore brand foundations have come a long way in terms of formulations and color range. so when they want to make a "better" foundation, i suppose it's in their thinking to come up with a new way of applying it. case in point, the L'Oreal True Match Roller Foundation. this cream foundation was released months ago, and when it it was, i was naturally intrigued to try it for myself. i used a few times before coming to my final thoughts about it...

pros of this foundation:

*the roller applicator feels like a nice massage on the face when applying the foundation.

*the formula is lightweight but offers buildable coverage.

*spf 25

*the shade i bought matched my skin perfectly.

cons of this foundation:

*the roller can be a bit tricky to maneuver around areas around the nose and eyes but is manageable.

*the foundation doesn't last more than a few hours before it starts to look unflattering and needs to be touched up.

*if not careful, you can apply too much product, leaving a cakey look.

*blending is still necessary after application.

*only 12 shades are offered-- this was disappointing since the True Match range of liquid foundations offers twice as many.

while i found the coverage and color match to be good, the fact that this foundation doesn't wear all day makes it a fail for me. sorry L'Oreal, but i need my foundation to last. i love many of your products, just not this particular foundation.

find L'Oreal True Match Roller Foundation at a drugstore near you. visit lorealparis.com for more info.

tell me: have you tried L'Oreal True Match Roller Foundation? did you love it or leave it?

review: Maybelline Dream Liquid Mousse

Maybelline's Dream Liquid Mousse promises to give users a flawless, airbrushed look in a lightweight liquid form that won't sink into pores, but instead will float on skin's surface. so what did i think?

i love this stuff! from the first time i used it a couple of weeks ago, i was amazed at how great the coverage was, and yet it still felt so light on my skin. it blends beautifully and creates such a pretty finish. i've worn it in the rain, indoors, outdoors and it wears like-- for lack of another term-- a dream. it never broke me out, and when i wear it, my skin looks amazing all day. i even wore it on a sweltering day this past week, and guess what? it stayed put. :)

another great thing i find with this foundation is how little i actually need to create an even complexion. i need two small pumps for my whole face and i'm good to go! do be advised that the colors run on the dark side-- i'm medium 4-- but i think this is a foundation you should absolutely try. it's available in 12 shades and you can get it at any drug or mass retail store, and online at drugstore.com.

review: Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place Makeup

Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place Makeup is a long-wearing oil-free foundation that gives flawless coverage and an amazing finish. this foundation has become my new favorite liquid foundation and i have my good friend Nicole to thank.

in all of our conversations no matter what, at some point, Nicole and i always get on the subject of beauty products. one day she asked me if i had tried Double Wear (i hadn't), and that she was so thrilled with how her skin looked when she wore it, i had to try it ASAP.

and because i'm never one to turn down such an enthusiastic recommendation...i tried it.

and i tell you, it's amazing! i picked up a sample in my perfect shade of bronze (love Estee Lauder for that!), but of course after using it for a few days, i knew i'd have to purchase it.

Double Wear goes on my skin beautifully, the finish is gorgeous and my skin looks great all day thanks to it's 15-hour staying power. i also love that it let's my skin breath-- it doesn't clog my pores or cause any unnecessary breakouts (who needs that?); the coverage is medium, but buildable (that means even, flawless skin), and it has an spf of 10 (i wear a separate spf, but it's always good to know that this has it as well).

i love it-- thanks Nicole! :)

find Double Wear Stay-in-Place Makeup (also available in a lighter-weight version) at your nearest Estee Lauder beauty counter (ask for a sample first if you don't want to commit just yet) and online at esteelauder.com

YSL Matt Touch Compact

ok, who wouldn't want this brand new, not to mention gorgeous, compact from YSL? the Matt Touch Compact Foundation is described as having an ultra soft and comfortable texture that gives your complexion a flawless and long-lasting matteness thanks its oil-regulating and anti-shine powder.

i love any product that keeps my shine level down...

available in 10 shades, this also contains spf 20 and the more i learn about it, the more i want it. the icing on the cake? the fabulous gold box, of course. it's beautiful, and it even has a separate compartment for the sponge applicator.

love...

Bobbi Brown Introduces Skin Foundation SPF 15

>while i've never tried any of Bobbi Brown's foundations, this one sounds like one to give a try...

Bobbi Brown introduces her latest product, a foundation called Skin Foundation. this new foundation promises to perfect the skin with coverage, but without feeling or looking heavy, as well as smooth, hydrate and minimize the look of pores.

Bobbi says: "this foundation offers the lightest amount of coverage without being transparent. i named it Skin Foundation because it doesn't look like foundation-- it looks like skin."

here are the complete details of this fabulous-sounding formula:

**invisible coverage-- offers a unique balance of pigments and
emollients in this lightweight formula; conceals imperfections while looking and feeling completely natural.

**skin tone perfecting-- light-reflective optics instantly give skin a fresh, radiant, pore-free look.

**hydrating-- a blend of glycerin and sodium hyaluronate attracts moisture to skin and locks it in.

**long-wearing-- resists streaking, stays color true, and wears for up to eight hours.

click here to watch Bobbi's video about the new Skin Foundation

while we're on the topic of face makeup, Bobbi has also introduced the Face Touch Up Stick, the perfect product for the woman on the go. convenient and easy to use, this full-coverage formula, that is also oil-free, provides quick and easy foundation touch ups in a portable mini stick. now you can cover up imperfections and redness anytime, anywhere.

review: J.Lynne Cosmetics Smooth Mineral Foundation

you may have already read my rave review about J. Lynne Cosmetics Gloss FX Natural Lip Glaze (if not, click the link), and today i have to rave again about their Smooth Mineral Foundation.

this fine-milled powder not only treats my skin well, but it covers like no other mineral powder foundation i have ever used! i was pleasantly surprised when i first used it, and fell in love even more when my skin still looked great hours later.

below are pictures of the six samples i received so i could find my perfect shade (you can also order samples-- it's a great way to ensure you find yours!)

the "deeps" (my color is Deep Cool 5.2)

the "deepers"

i apply this the same as any other mineral powder foundations-- with a kabuki brush on the areas i need more coverage, and a fluffy powder brush for the rest-- and end up with smooth, perfectly even skin! one thing that caught my attention right away was that these contain no sort of shimmer or "light reflecting" particles; the finish is very matte. i like this because once i apply the rest of my makeup (most of which have a shimmer), i don't look overly shimmery.

available in 8 color groups, (porcelain, fair, ivory, light, medium, tan, deep and deeper), with each group featuring varying undertones, i believe that most people will find their skin's perfect match. i'll say it again though, order samples to be sure you find the right one.

visit jlynncosmetics.com to find out more about these mineral foundations, order and discover more of their fabulous products!
