beauty review: Juara Skincare faves

Juara recently sent me a few of their products and, naturally, i wanted to share some of my thoughts about them with you. the fabulous Kerri Russell had some of the products used on her skin to prep it for a red carpet event, and like many people, i loved the results ~ what a surprise when the products showed up on my doorstep!

Tamarind Tea Hydrating Toner
this toner-serum fusion is a fabulous product ~ it really makes my skin look and feel so beautiful. i first tried this toner in 2009, and in my review i said it was "the most moisturizing toner i have ever used." fast-forward 5 years, i still think it's still a fabulous gem. to quote myself: "this toner is unique in that it provides hydration and moisture without oil, while also soothing and leaving my skin feeling amazingly soft! if your skin needs hydration, this is perfect. if you are looking for a toner with calming benefits, this one will work for you too." it's definitely a gorgeously beneficial step in my skincare routine.

an oil-free gel-cream, the Sweet Black Tea & Ginger Mattefying Moisturizer combines radiance-boosting, anti-aging benefits thanks to antioxidant-rich sweet black tea. this beauty is infused with vitamin B, hydrating hyaluronic acid as well as purifying ginger and cinnamon to nourish and keep skin in gorgeous condition. i love how the formula glides on smoothly, absorbs quickly and leaves my skin feeling moisturized with a soft, matte finish.

Juara Sweet Black Tea Eye Crème is quite luxurious, i must say. the silky texture feels amazing to apply morning and night. it's kept the area around my eyes so hydrated. the combination of  kombucha {fermented black tea}, avocado butter, rice bran oil and candlenut oil all work together to nourish, refresh, treat and keep my eyes looking youthful.

red carpet beauty: Keri Russell

for the movie premiere of "Dawn of the Planet of the Apes" {i don't know about you, but i'm so looking forward to seeing it!} celebrity makeup artist Tina Turnbow created a radiant look for Keri Russell that worked to only make the already gorgeous actress look simply stunning.

using Juara Skincare and Votre Vu products, Tina shared the details on how she created the look...

Tina first applied Juara’s Tamarind Tea Hydrating Toner onto Keri's cleansed skin to prep it for moisturizer, a vital step in creating the overall look.

Keri likes a dewy, glowy look, so moisturizing is a really important step. Tina used Juara Sweet Black Tea & Rice Facial Moisturizer and Sweet Black Tea Eye Crème to hydrate and give her skin that "plump, luminescent look."

Keri wore a Monique Lhuillier A-line, 50s style black skirt with a white top, so Tina's modern take on the classic 50's look included "a touch of color on the cheeks and lips and emphasize her eyes with a slight cat eye and strong brow."

on the eyes Tina swept a light linen eye shadow all over Keri's lids as the base and followed it with Votre Vu Le Joli Crayon in Charbon, drawing a line from the inner corner out with a little flick at the end to give a lift to the eye and a cat-eye feel. rather than leaving a straight line, a smudger was used to soften and extend the line, giving the eyes a more wide-eyed look.

Votre Vu’s Eiffel Power mascara {a personal favorite of mine!} was applied, concentrating on the outer edge of her top lashes to emphasize that wide-eye effect. Tina adds, "i didn’t put any mascara on her bottom lashes because i really liked the way it looked cleaner on the bottom. to finish off her eyes, i used the Arch de Triumphe in Warm Brown to enhance the arch of the brow and give it more definition."

on Keri's cheeks, Vu-On Rouge in Ma Cherry was used on the apples, as well as bit of the Vu-On Rouge in Amourette on the top of the cheek bones for highlight.

a modern take on a red lip was created using French Kiss in Tatiana {a sheer not too strong lipstick shade} by tapping it onto her lips and softening around the edges. Tina then applied Vu-On Rouge in Amourette onto the center of the lips.

so there you have it! what do you think?

many thanks to Tina for the info; you can find more info about each product at their respected websites; Juara products at juaraskincare.com and Votre Vu at votrevu.com.

review: Juara Tamarind Tea Hydrating Toner

thanks to Beautyfix, i was able to try Juara Skincare's Tamarind Tea Hydrating Toner, the most moisturizing toner i have ever used. this toner is unique in that it provides hydration and moisture without oil, while also soothing and leaving my skin feeling amazingly soft! if your skin needs hydration, this is perfect. if you are looking for a toner with calming benefits, this one will work for you too.

the ingredients in this toner are fabulous: tamarind provides skin with hydration, an infusion of white, green and black teas calm the skin, vitamin-rich rice bran extract minimizes redness and any signs of stress your skin may have; nourishing antioxidants fight off free radicals, and moisture-binding hyaluronic acid keeps moisture in the skin. this is one amazing skincare product, to say the least!

review: Juara Rice Facial Scrub

i can't help but love facial scrubs. they help keep my skin smooth and more even-toned, not to mention of course, they also help control oil and keep my breakouts under control. Juara Rice Facial Scrub is one of my favorites because it's gentle, removes my makeup, smells fabulous and makes my skin glow!

i really like this sweet-smelling scrub and the amazing way it never dries my skin out. in fact, my skin feels like moisture has been added to it after i use it-- such a great thing, especially in dry weather. this is great for everyday use, is sulfate and paraben-free, and is suitable for all skin types.

visit dermstore.com to find out more about my new favorite scrub.
