NYFW hair: TRESemme at Jenny Packham f/w '14

for her latest collection, Jenny Packham was inspired by Bianca Jagger in the 1970's, who served as the darling of new york society. she was a woman who "epitomized the ease and opulence of evening wear at the time." and it wasn't exactly what the designer's muse wore, but "how she wore it".

to add the perfect compliment, TRESemmé stylist Jeanie Syfu created a hair look that reflected Jenny's vision: a loose, knotted bun that's both decadent and natural.

blow dryer, round brush, Mason Pearson brush, elastic, bobby pins and hair pins

how to create the look:
apply TRESemmé 24 Hour Body Foaming Mousse to hair and blow dry with a round brush; once hair is completely dry, back-brush hair for volume. spray with Keratin Smooth Illuminating Shine Spray while gently brushing the hair away from the face. pull the hair back so that it loosely covers the ears into a low ponytail and fasten with elastic. twist the length of the hair into a bun, leaving the ends out, and fasten with hair pins.
apply Leave-In Split End Conditioning Treatment through the front of the hairline while loosely separating the hair with fingertips.
for a touchable hold, finish the look with 24 Hour Body Finishing Spray.

{beauty girl tv} hair therapy : TRESemme products i'm loving right now...

for me, my current hair product consumption has included those i didn't really pay much attention to myself until this past year. i certainly didn't ever think i would love finishing spray or that i would ever use mousse again {my go-to product as an adolescent!}.

that said, it's to my delight that the market now includes anything and everything for every hair type, style and shape you have, don't have and/or want to create. my once full, uber-thick hair now falls in the medium to regular category of thickness {i think}, so i have had to seek out many different hair goodies.

ny fashion week f/w '13: TRESemmé at Rebecca Minkoff

inspired by Neil Armstrong's trip to space, Rebecca Minkoff’s collection featured strong silhouettes, offset with soft fluid fabrics in cosmic prints. to compliment the collection, TRESemmé stylist, Jeanie Syfu created a simple, yet bold style.

start by applying TRESemmé Thermal Creations Volumizing Mousse throughout the roots and mid–lengths and TRESemmé Keratin Smooth Heat Protection Shine Spray to the ends, blow dry with a round brush, lifting at the roots and smoothing through the ends...

starting at the nape of the neck, liberally spray 1-2” sections of hair with TRESemmé 24 Hour Body Finishing Spray before straightening with a flat iron.

continue flat ironing hair in sections, working up the head to the temples; create a middle part with a tail comb and take a thin, vertical section of hair, parallel to each side of your part, and lightly tease the hair for volume.

beauty on a budget: Mila Kunis’ Extract Premiere Look

monday night's premiere of "Extract" attracted many of hollywood's young celebrities, but it was Mila Kunis' fun, laid back look stole the show.

Mara Roszak, TRESemmé Celebrity Stylist, created Mila's gorgeous hairstyle-- for under $15! Mara proves that you can look red-carpet ready without spending a fortune.

follow these simple steps to achieve Mila Kunis' show-stopping hairstyle:



**apply TRESemmé 24 Hour Body Foaming Mousse on damp hair from roots to ends. rough dry hair until it is completely dry, parting hair slightly more to one side.




**using a 1" curling iron all over the head, rotate the direction of the waves. spray each section with TRESemmé Frizz Shield Finishing Spray, and tousle waves with fingers.

**pull hair into a low ponytail toward the opposite side of the part, securing with an elastic. twist into a loose bun and secure with crisscrossed bobby pins.

happy friday my beauties-- how was your week? mine was busy! with fashion week i started sharing all the collections and makeup looks i was loving with you, but the last couple of days i haven't had a chance to get as much done blogging-wise since a little bug is going through my home, and hubby now has it (oh no, does that mean i'm next?). so expect many (many) fashion week posts this weekend :)

and the Oscars are on sunday (eeek!). will you be watching? you know i will, and you can expect all the best looks from the night come next week. until then, how about some drugstore beauty buys? this week's batch features products that are all less than $6 each-- enjoy!




Suave Naturals Body Wash in Sweet Pea & Violet is an amazing body wash that is low cost, and works so much better than its more expensive counterpart. i love the sweet smell and the lush lather leaves my skin lightly scented and feeling soft-- definitely a must have!




TRESemme Vitamin E Moisture Rich Shampoo for dry or damaged hair has been in my shower for ages, and for good reason-- it's great! i love the nourishing formula and when used with the conditioner, my hair ends up looking healthy and shiny as well as feeling amazingly soft. the size you get for the price is amazing, and lasts a really long time-- a little goes a long way!




Vaseline Petroleum Jelly is a product most everyone has in their homes, and can be used in several different ways. i personally use it to keep my lips soft, give my feet an insane moisture treatment (i slather it over my feet, put socks on and either sleep in them or keep them on for a few hours-- amazing!), and even use it over blemishes that are drying up to keep the skin around them from looking like it's shedding.

this week, i am sharing with you a fabulous eye cream, long wearing eyeshadow and a shine spray that never disappoints...



Neutrogena Visibly Firm Eye Cream has to be one of the best eye creams i have ever used. it keeps the delicate eye area moisturized, and best of all, works great at combating puffiness. anytime i have morning eye puff, i reach for this, and almost instantly, it is gone.









Revlon ColorStay 12 Hour Eyeshadow is a fabulous way to get a quad of colors that work well together, and are long lasting. i have 7 of these and i find myself using them often. the combo pictured at left is called Berry Bloom (i am wearing it in my photo down on the right).










TRESemme No Frizz Ultra Light Shine Spray is a shine spray i bought for the first time about a year ago on the recommendation of my hubby because "it's a spray". i had previously been using a gel-style shine serum, and this was next to it. needless to say, i am now a fan of the spray.

hair therapy...part four: TRESemme

here i am again, in search of a new deep conditioner. so far, the past three have worked quite well. i beleive that the ENJOY product is in the lead. :)

i personally love TRESemme products, and finding out that there are additional products available in their Moisture Rich line made me search high and low for them. come to find out, the one i was looking for wasn't available in stores, but thankfully everything is online.

i purchased TRESemme Deep Quench Conditioning Treatment at Drugstore.com i was excited to try this, since i already use the shampoo and conditioner. this treatment promises to revitalize tired, dry strands with keratin, silicones and panthenol. it can be used daily, so it doesn't build up or weigh hair down.

it was a little different using this, because the treatment comes after the shampoo, then followed by the conditioner. i have to be honest, and say that i didn't really feel much of a difference in my hair than if i would have just used the shampoo and conditioner. too bad, too, since i was rooting for this one!
