Portia de Rossi uses Jurlique to prep skin for new season of 'Arrested Development'

summer has officially begun ~ hope you enjoyed your memorial day weekend, beauties!

i spent it unpacking and settling into a new home with my family. true, it was a bit stressful, but i still relished lots of yoga, savored meals outside {thankful for beautiful weather!}, and energized along the  refreshing morning walks with my dog, exploring our new neighborhood.

you may have spent your time by the pool or at the beach with friends and family; did you do any grilling? or perhaps you went to the movies...

or maybe you spent some time watching the much-anticipated return of Arrested Development! thanks to Netflix, the Bluth family returned after being away for 7 years...

clockwise, from left: Netflix/AD promo; de Rossi on GMA; on the red carpet for AD premiere {4.29.13}

while that's all well and good {who doesn't love a comeback?}, i was excited to learn that one of my favorite brands was used to prep the  skin of Portia de Rossi prior to filming the new season. lead makeup artist, Stephanie Coffey, requested plenty of Jurlique for the AD star {who portrays the character Lindsay Fünke}, also a huge fan of the brand. Portia stocked up on two great products to keep herself looking lovely during filming and beyond...

so which products did Portia use to get her skin looking fab?

before makeup, she used Jurlique Rosewater Balancing Mist {pictured, at top}, a daily hydrating mist that keeps skin soft and supple. it features the relaxing scent of rose, and the ingredients {including aloe vera and marshmallow}, aid in restoring and hydrating the complexion.

for added moisture that never irritates,  Portia relied on Jurlique Rose Moisture Plus with Antioxidant Complex Moisturizing Cream; packed with high-performance ingredients {green tea, grape seed, rose hip, and soy proteins} this moisturizing cream provides the dual benefits of hydration and antioxidant protection.

both of these are gorgeous products ~ they pamper skin and i highly recommend them for keeping skin hydrated as you head into the warm, sunny months. visit jurlique.com for more info and find out where to buy.

keep skin looking its best this holiday party season!

office parties, cocktails with friends, family get-togethers, late night "ugly sweater" parties...

soirees that come along with the holidays are fun, but all the festivities can leave you looking less than lovely the morning after. thankfully, my sources that have shared some tips and products you can use to reinvigorate your skin and maintain a wide-eyed and bushy-tailed look.

consider trying the following list of beauty essentials ~ they just might be what you need to help your skin recover from all that fun you've been having...

start the morning after by cleansing away last night. Dr. LeWinn by Kinerase HydraBalance Foaming Cleanser is a soap-free, non-drying cleanser that contains a balancing formula to restore the skin's natural protective barrier, as well as help it regain and retain lost moisture.

wake up your skin with a cooling spritz! Jurlique Chamomile Soothing Mist gently calms and soothes tired skin; this beautiful formula will leave your skin feeling refreshed and hydrated {and one step closer to your former glory}.

lock in the moisture. Kinerase Advanced Lotion conditions while supporting your skin's natural production of hyaluronic acid. this gentle lotion also boasts in aiding the improvement of the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

wake up your complexion. follow this skin rehab with a light layer of Too Faced Tinted Beauty Balm Multi-Benefit Skin Care Makeup all over to even out your skin-tone.

if your face is feeling fresh, but your eyes still look a little bloodshot, here are some easy tricks to brighten up those peepers...

start with the Dr. LeWinn by Kinerase Under Eye Recovery to soothe and deflate puffiness for a bright-eyed appearance {this affordable wonder also decreases dark circles as it brightens}, then neutralize the redness and draw attention outward with a pale reflective shadow like the Too Faced Exotic Color Eyeshadow in Firefly.

complete the illusion of bigger eyes by tight-lining with the Too Faced 3 Way Lash Lining Tool and finish your look with a quick tap of Too Faced Full Bloom Full Bloom Lip & Cheek Crème Color in Sweet Pea. your fresh-faced look will leave people thinking you spent the morning doing yoga.

keep your skin happy and healthy looking this festive season. have fun of course, and remember that simple things like staying hydrated, eating healthy foods, and getting as much sleep as possible are also always beneficial!

happy holidays!

natural beauty: my current Jurlique faves

i've been a fan of Jurlique for years now and for good reason. with natural ingredients, highly effective formulas and gorgeous smelling products {always a good thing}, it hard to resist the inner and outer {i love their packaging!} beauty that is created by the brand.

when it comes to cleansers, i have used plenty in my life. the delicious-smelling Balancing Foaming Cleanser naturally cleanses away surface impurities, leaving my skin comfortably fresh, hydrated and feeling soft. it's perfect for combination skin types and a little goes a long way ~ a fabulous benefit when budget is a concern.

to refresh, tone and keep my skin hydrated, i'm crazy about Citrus Purifying Mist. there's little doubt as to why this citrus and aloe-infused, skin-loving fluid is a bestseller and beauty editor fave ~ this mist keeps oil under control, nourishes {it's packed with antioxidants} and is a most fabulous treat when skin {or i, haha!} needs a little midday pick-me-up.

jojoba oil, sweet violet, lavender and lemon oils {among others} compliment the sun-protection of titanium dioxide and zinc oxide in Purely Sun-Defying Moisturizer with SPF 15 Sunscreen. i love this lightweight cream because it's an overachiever: it addresses the visible signs of aging skin as well as protects it against environmental aggressors and premature aging caused by icky UV rays.

a facial treat at the end of my day has been to include a healthy dose of Herbal Recovery Night Cream; nourishing and antioxidant-rich {thanks to botanical extracts and vitamin A}, i've enjoyed the benefits of this all-skin-types cream. it's a bit thicker in texture, but not heavy in the slightest; i love waking up with hydrated, happy, glowing skin!

every product from Jurlique is unique and so effective. if you're not familiar with them, take some time to visit their website, jurlique.com, and learn more! i'm sure you'll be happy you did. :)

green beauty: Jurlique Love Balm

if your skin needs some extra loving care, you need to try Jurlique's Love Balm. as with all of the brand's products, this is a natural product, sure to win over the "green" beauty in you.

scented with tangerine oil (love that!), Love Balm is a salve that works on everything from your lips to your toes. vitamin E, olive and safflower oils give skin the replenishment it needs to be healthy and protected.

although this is a versitile balm that works great anytime of year, the winter is coming (not soon enough, LOL!), and that sometimes means brutal cold that can lead to chapped skin. applying this before battling the harsh, chilly elements will definitely help save your skin from damage that can be caused by it.

here are some ways you can use this Love Balm:

**on your lips to moisturize, condition, protect and soften

**on elbows-- massage into rough areas

**on your cuticles–- keep nails looking great by rubbing on daily to hydrate dry cuticles

**on hands for an all over "invisible" protective glove

**on your legs to instantly hydrate skin and give a lovely sheen when wearing your favorite dress

**on your nose to soothe chapped areas during the flu, a cold, or exposure to the elements

**on your feet-– apply to heels to help soften dry, toughened skin

**breathe in to uplift-- whenever you need a pick up, inhale the tangerine scent for an instant boost!

Amy Adams at 'Julie & Julia' Premiere

CoverGirl celebrity makeup artist Molly R. Stern created Amy Adams' red carpet look for thursday night's nyc premiere of Julie & Julia.

Molly says: "it always seems that inspiration ends up coming from the dress. Amy wore a gorgeous full length Carolina Herrera gown with a charcoal and white pattern speckled with gold beading. so i borrowed from that exquisite color palette."

the look was "a steel and copper smoky lid, gorgeous full lashes, a peachy cheek and a golden amber lip."

face:

"i first started by prepping her skin with a refreshing spray of Jurlique Rosewater Balancing Mist. and then moisturized her skin with La Mer's The Moisturizing Lotion.
next, i based her skin sparingly with the new Cle de peau cream foundation."

"then i warmed up her cheeks with the gorgeous new CoverGirl Simply Ageless Sculpting Blush in Plush Peach."

eyes:

"for her eyes, i based the lid with a combination of Shu Uemura's Cream Eye Shadow in P Taupe, and Vincent Longo's Silky Orange Liquid Eyeshadow. over that i blended the new NARS shadow duo in Brumes."

"under her eye i smudged CoverGirl Exact Eyelights Eyeliner in Radiant Sapphire in the outer corner, and on the inner corner i dabbed a smidge of Shu Uemura Pressed Eye Shadow in ME gold 350."

"on her lashes i coated them with CoverGirl Exact Eyelights Mascara in Black Sapphire."

lips:

"to finish off the look i tinted her lips with CoverGirl Outlast Lipstain in Cinnamon Smile with a dab of YSL Golden Gloss over top."

i love the combination of high and low-priced brands that Molly used to create Amy's looks-- just goes to show you that even drugstore makeup can give you a fabulous red-carpet look! thanks Molly!

Mother's Day Gift Ideas from Jurlique

being a mom, i think i deserve to be pampered here and there throughout the entire year (thankfully, i'm married to a man who believes the same thing!). of course, it's always nice to get something extra special on Mother's Day– and if you're still looking for a gift for the mom in your life, it's not too late to find that perfect gift (but i would say right now you are pretty close, so you better get a move on if you haven't already done so).

as the proud mother of two-year old Jack Domenic, Christine Coppa (pictured below), the author of Rattled! and the popular Storked! blog on Glamour.com, knows a thing or two about what moms want– pampering, of course!

here are some of Christine's mommy must-haves that are sure to add a little me-time to her day.

indulgent treats
schedule in a sleepover party and slather on Jurlique Purely Age-Defying* Night Lotion. Christine loves that it's so light and leaves your face glowing until the next morning. it's perfect for those early-morning wake-up calls...

beauty essentials
eye cream is not negotiable, according to Christine. she keeps Jurlique's Purely Age-Defying* Eye Cream in the fridge because it helps alleviate that puffy, up-all-hours-of-the-night-with-a-toddler look.

daytime pick-me-up
Jurlique Citrus Purifying Mist is so refreshing and fabulous for busy moms on the go. Christine keeps a bottle in her car at all times to freshen up after an afternoon in the park of a walk with her son Jack.

dual gifts
many moms would rather receive something for their child than for themselves, so why not pamper them both with Baby's Soothing Bubble Bath? it's great for both baby's playtime and mommy's downtime.

sunday night splurge
to prepare for a hectic week ahead, Christine treats herself to a Moisture Replenishing Mask after exfoliating with the Daily Exfoliating Cream– a perfect accompaniment to watching Desperate Housewives!

be sure to check out these organic products from Jurlique, and tell your mom i say happy mother's day!

review: Jurlique Biodynamic Beauty Eye Cream

if you're looking for a fabulous eye cream, but need to know its good for you, Jurlique Biodynamic Beauty Eye Cream just might the one you've been looking for!

this fabulous little tube houses an all-natural, better-than-organic blend of ingredients, including euphrasia and arnica (to relieve inflammation).

i love the high moisturization (my spellcheck doesn't like this word) of this cream, and let me tell you, a little goes a long way! so if you compare price to the amount of product you get, it really is a great value-- you will have this product for a lo-oo-ng time.

i like that this eye cream is so moisturizing, but if i used too much it didn't absorb well, so be careful! plus, you really don't want to waste any. it's better to apply a little at a time rather than apply too much. i would say the size of a small pea would work for both eyes (of course, this is my own personal experience, you might like to use more or less). it keeps my eyes from becoming puffy and it leaves my eyes looking bright with no darkness in sight-- hey, i made a rhyme!

find Jurlique Biodynamic Beauty Eye Cream at jurlique.com
and don't forget to enter for your chance to win this, and five other products, in my Jurlique Giveaway!

Jurlique Biodynamic Beauty Serum

finding skincare that is good for your skin and all natural is easier these days, and Jurlique has made sure their products are the best. the new Biodynamic Beauty range is a collection of the most good-for-your-skin products, and only include their better-than-organinc ingredients.

i have to be honest and say that any product that will give me a more even-toned appearance will always get my attention. it isn't all about wrinkles and bags under the eyes that make us look older, discoloration adds years, too.

my favorite of the whole Biodynamic Beauty line turns out to be the Beauty Serum. it is lightweight, absorbs quickly and has given my skin a bright, more glow-y appearance. licorice and black elder work to brighten and fade discoloration while beech tree buds, hibiscus and yeast help strengthen the skin. isn't nature fabulous?

when looking for natural beauty product, you can't get any better than biodynamic ingredients. so why not check out Jurlique? visit jurlique.com for more information
