Dove Color Care celebrates at Sundance + premieres new video short

happy wednesday, beauties!

while i enjoyed the past {3-day} weekend at home, many were in park city, utah, taking part in a pretty big event: Sundance Film Festival. it was there that Dove stylists, including Matt Fugate, primped and pampered attendees and celebs {so fun!}; they also premiered a brilliant new video short featuring Dove Color Care Collection.

many stopped by the Dove Hair gifting suite, including celebs Jane Lynch, Octavia Spencer, Jennifer Coolidge, Troian Bellisario, Mario Lopez and wife Courtney, AnnaLynne McCord, Karina Smirnoff, Arden Myrin and Kate Voegele.

"just like films have the power to enthuse viewers with their vibrant and colorful storytelling, the Dove Color Care collection inspires women to experience the vibrant feeling of color," said David Rubin, director of Unilever Hair Care. "this makes the park city film festival the ideal backdrop for introducing women to our new Dove Color Care collection and video short."


the short features Kate Crofts {a real woman} as she describes what different colors represent to her and how they make her feel. explaining how changing her hair color brings out various sides of her personality, as well as how the feeling of freshly-colored hair can make even normal things seem more vibrant, is quite inspiring.

Jessica Alba's Undone Updo

Jessica Alba was at Sundance last week to attend the premiere of her film, The Killer Inside Me, and Fekkai stylist Renato Campora made sure she looked fabulous for her night out.

i have to say i love Jessica Alba's hair all pulled out of her face. it's a gorgeous one! plus with the heavy collar of her coat and sweater, it would have been too much to have left her hair down, in my opinion.

here's how Campora styled Jessica's hair:

before blowing her hair dry, Campora used Fekkai Coiff Strong Hold Volume Mousse on hair while it was damp. for the blow dry, he only used his fingers in order to create texture.

next, he wrapped hair around a hair stick to the back of the head and locked it into place. after diffusing the hair at the roots and letting it set for 10 minutes, he took the stick out and applied Fekkai Au Naturel Dry Shampoo. again using his fingers, Campora created more texture at the roots by tousling the hair.

finally, he created a messy bun and secured it using bobby pins and added an elastic headband to give a fresh, defined look. to finish the look, he sprayed Fekkai Sheer Hold Hairspray to set the style.

The September Issue Receives Award at Sundance

the film, The September Issue, which i shared information about with you a couple of weeks ago, won the Grand Jury Prize for Excellence in Cinematography at the Sundance Film festival. now i don't know about you, but the more i hear about this movie, the more i want to see it!
