Twilight Star Kristen Stewart on Allure November 2009 Cover

attention Twilight fans: Kristen Stewart is on november's Allure cover! i think she looks great-- quite different and more glamorous than i'm used to seeing her.

check out this excerpt from the article titled Into the Deep...

Kristen on her role as Bella in the Twilight saga:

"you're so very much with Bella. you're so in her shoes that it's a vicarious experience. it's addictive."



on her refusal to play by the conventional "hollywood" rules:

"i go outside, and i'm wearing a funky t-shirt and my hair is dirty, and people say, 'what's wrong with her? she needs to invest in a hairbrush...i'm like, don’t you get it? i'm not that girl! like, i never was that girl. it's not like i was really clean-cut last year."



this hollywood actress sometimes has trouble expressing her true feelings when speaking with the media:

"i spend so much of my time guarding against sounding insincere about something that i would die for...maybe i'm overcompensating...i care so much. and it gets reported as the opposite. and even seeing this [interview], they'll be like, oh, she's trying to let us know..."

Kristen is not an actress who has to worry about her weight:

"i don't exercise. i'm skinny fat. i worry about being too skinny."


the november issue of Allure magazine will be on newstands in nyc and los angeles today and everywhere else on the 20th.

Freida Pinto Covers India's Vogue and Cosmopolitan Magazines

Freida Pinto graces the covers of both march issues of Vogue India and Cosmopolitan India.

on Vogue India's cover, Freida is dressed in an ensemble from the Louis Vuitton spring 2009 collection-- she looks fabulous as usual. for the Cosmo India cover, she's a little too photoshopped, but i love the Blumarine spring 2009 dress she's wearing.

Scarlett Johansson Covers Harper's Bazaar Feb. '09

Scarlett Johansson is the gorgeous cover girl for the february issue of Harper's Bazaar. as you can see on the left, the newsstand cover and the one on the right, the subscriber cover (i finally got a new printer/scanner/copier/fax, so i could scan my issue for you!).

i think both covers look great, and the issue itself isn't so bad itself. in it you'll find an article/interview about ScarJo in which she boasts her overwhelming happiness for our new president ("i'm absolutely over the moon"), transitioning into married life with new hubby, Ryan Reynolds ("i feel like everything is really normal, it's calm and natural, like the way it should be"), and the fact that she would like to get more involved in behind-the-camera work ("i can't keep this face forever").

also in the issue are some great editorials (check out Hits of the Season and Back to Basics), my favorite regular sections, Hottest, Newest, Latest and Fabulous at Every Age feature some great inspiration for updating your look, and there's a great piece on Michelle Obama and Carla Bruni-Sarkozy as style leaders.

Kate Winslet Covers Instyle February 2009

wow!

that's how i feel about Kate Winslet's february Instyle magazine cover. the color of the dress is amazing-- love it!

read some tidbits from her interview below.



on acting:
"everyone assumes it's such a glamorous job, but really the glamorous side of it is when you get dressed up and go on the red carpet," says Winslet. "the rest of it is major hard work and you have to be ready. you have to fall back on your good leg if your bad leg breaks."

on plastic surgery:
"i'm a normal human being. i don’t have any desire to change my body as a result of having had two kids. that’s a good thing, isn't it?"

on not wanting to be referred to as a movie star:
"i don't feel like (one) in my life at all, and i don’t particularly think i behave like one. i don’t have my own plane. i don't have a chef of a trainer. to me, you're a movie star only during the time when you're at the Academy Awards or at an important glamorous event. it's very much a hat that you wear, and as soon as the event’s over, that hat comes off. i'm back to being me and being mommy, and that’s my priority."

on not having a natural impulse to pamper herself:
"literally, the one maybe celeb-y thing i do is the occasional facial. that is the only indulgent thing, where i just lie there and relax for an hour. you can't answer the phone. you can't get up and make soup. you've just got to lie there and have somebody make you feel nice."

January 2009 Magazine Covers

if you read any magazines, you noticed the january issues were a bit thin. it's unfortunate, but advertisers spent big bucks for ads in the december issues, so budgets were slim when it came time for january's pages. i do think the issues themselves were good, and since a new year brings a fresh start, things can only get better.

2008 Magazine Covers: Allure

any makeup fanatic looks forward to each and every issue of Allure magazine-- at least i know i do! while the covers this past year got to be a bit questionable (why, for example were they so enamored with the smokey eye/nude lip/side-swept hair?), it seems they got back on track and had beautiful covers in the end.
