fitness expert Tracy Anderson shares her Bioelements faves

as a fan of both Tracy Anderson and the fabulous skin care brand, Bioelements, i was excited to learn that the two partnered up to bring health and wellness info from body to skin and beyond…

in a recent SkinReading blog post {that they've so graciously allowed me to share with you in its entirety, below}, Tracy {trainer to celebs like Gwyneth Paltrow, Nicole Richie and Molly Sims} shares her thoughts about the connection healthy living has on skin, as well as how Bioelements products complement her intense fitness regimen, causing an all around glow.

read on and enjoy!

*what's your philosophy when it comes to skin care?*
"it's so important to take care of your skin. i only use products that incorporate natural ingredients with the best of science and have a certain quality standard, which is why i love Bioelements."

*what are your favorite products?*
"Kerafole and Beyond Hydration"

*you've always stressed that food plays an integral part in transforming and maintaining your body ~ do you think it plays a part in how your skin looks and feels as well?*
"yes, absolutely! you are how you eat. you are how you move. you are how you care for yourself. what occurs on your skin is aligned with how you treat your health and what you put on your skin. the routine requires consistency and care just like anything else."

*what other daily habits do you feel contribute to healthy skin?*
"drinking water, not eating gluten, circulation which exercise is vital for, positive thoughts, managing stress well."

*what is your post-workout skin care routine? or, any post-workout skin care tips?*
"i love the Moisture Positive Cleanser post-workout because you just sweat and the skin is warm so it is great to clean while adding moisture. always wash your face and pile on the healthy skin care products post-workout. they really sink in and provide that healthy glow!"

*you've mentioned in the press that Bioelements Vitalization body creme is one of your travel must-haves - what are some tips you use to avoid skin issues that can come from frequent travel?*
"you got it ~ amazing moisturizer for your entire body. don’t rely on the items that may be at a destination for you. this is not the time to drop the ball with what works for your skin."

*you've transformed bodies all over the world with your approach to fitness, but are there any tips you've picked up from your clients that have contributed to your wellness ~ skin care or otherwise?* "lean into your own beauty. stop trying to look like other people. lines like Bioelements are vast and researched enough so that you can have that valuable custom approach. lean into that and give the products time to work with you. people are so willing to lose focus if they don't change the second they put something on their body. the body doesn't work that way and your beauty can’t shine under a constant state of self-criticism."

*now let's talk relaxation: what's your favorite spa service? how about your most-loved way to pamper at home?*
"that question makes me realize how much i need a vacation! give me a beautiful beach, great food, great wine, great people and i don’t even need a spa! i live for do-it-yourself products like an amazing Bioelements mask. then you can multitask!"

Tracy obviously has great taste in skincare ~ be sure to visit her website!

natural beauty: Bioelements All Things Pure

one of my favorite skincare brands, Bioelements, recently introduced a new line of products called All Things Pure, and it's pretty delicious for the skin.

there are 4 products in the collection, suitable for all skin types, and all of which have been awarded with the Natural Products Association Seal. take a look...

All Things Pure Cleanser is a creamy, soap-free formula made with a blend of natural bentonite clay that works to cleanse away excess dirt and oils. jojoba seed oil, chamomile and aloe vera helps soothe skin while leaving it clean and soft.

the Eye Oil is unique in that it can be used both around the eyes and on the face. it contains essential oils to give skin (especially around the eyes) a moisture-rich, nourishing treat. i love the yummy lavender scent-- perfectly soothing before bed, and actually energizing each morning (let it soak in before applying makeup).

to keep skin exfoliated and polished, the All Things Pure Scrub is my favorite. it contains curative chinese grains and organic oils (sunflower, jojoba and evening primrose) that scrub away dead, skin-dulling cells. the best thing about it is that the grains actually melt away as it's rubbed into the skin, and the oils leave skin feeling so smooth!

finally, the Moisturizer (rich and emollient, but not too heavy) gives my skin a fabulous drink of moisture with ingredients like purified water and shea butter. i love to use this cream especially at night to wake up with a refreshed-skin look.

if you love organic products, these are definitely worth checking out. each product is wonderful and would work well with your current skincare regimen.

review: Bioelements V-Neck Smoothing Creme

Bioelements V-Neck Smoothing Creme was created because normal aging, sun exposure and other environmental assaults can cause deep neck creases, freckles on your chest and crinkly, weathered skin from your cleavage to chin.

this cream is fabulous-- it's moisturizing, has brought a new glow to my neck and decolletage, and i love the way it smells!

treating the skin on my neck and decolletage has always been second nature to me; when i exfoliate my face, i do the same to my neck and chest (if you don't do this already-- you should be!). when i moisturize, it goes there too, etc, etc. this is all mainly because my mother taught me that a woman's age can be given away by the condition of her neck (as well as her hands). as i have gone through my life, i have found this to be nothing but true: women are walking around with fabulously flawless faces, but their necks are anything but.

before i start a full on rant, let me just tell you that Bioelements V-Neck Smoothing Creme is a great product whether you already have signs of aging going on on your neck and chest, or if you are like me, and just want to prevent, prevent, prevent.

V-Neck Smoothing Creme is formulated with hyaluronic acid to moisturize, alpha arbutin to promote lightening of hyperpigmantation as well as even out skin tone, and acetyl hexapeptide which inhibits changes in collagen structure and the breakdown of elastin to reduce the appearance of lines, creases and wrinkles.

review: Bioelements Restorative Clay

Bioelements Restorative Clay is a simple to use, 10 minute facial treatment mask that keeps my oily skin under control, smooths my skin and keep it looking fresh, clear and healthy looking.

you'll definitely love this if you have any issue with oiliness, large pores, dehydration, breakouts or dull skin-- this is a fabulous product for getting and keeping your skin in check. you might also think of Restorative Clay as the product to reach for when your skin needs a little pick-me-up-- this stimulates circulation and clears out pores with chinese herbs and soothing chamomile in an active clay base.

review: Bioelements Quick Refiner

Bioelements Quick Refiner is a liquid exfoliator that i have been using for last couple of weeks, and i have to say i love it!

i always recommend exfoliation when asked about ways to improve skin tone, what to use to soften fine lines and wrinkles, how to keep skin's texture smooth and blemish-free and of course, think of it as most important when fighting against hyperpigmentation.

i think Quick Refiner would be a great formulation to achieve all these results!

using a blend of glycolic and fruit acids, Quick Refiner helps to dissolve away dead surface cells, that not only helps reveal fresher-looking, more even-toned skin, but it also keeps skin clear by helping to unclog pores. the light serum goes on smooth and absorbs quickly, leaving my skin feeling super soft. i did experience a bit of a sting around areas that were blemished, but i didn't have any other irritation once that feeling subsided.

over the course of using this i have noticed my skin behaving better as well. i have less breakouts and if i do get a blemish here or there, they go away quickly!

have i said that i love this product yet?

review: Bioelements Kerafole Purge Kit

i have done a cleanse for my body, but have never even thought of doing the equivalent for my skin. that was until i was given the opportunity to try the Bioelements Kerafole Purge Kit.

like the name says, this is a purge for the skin, and just like going through your closet to purge your ever-growing stash of never worn shoes, promised to leave your skin feeling amazing and looking great (of course, getting rid of shoes doesn't necessarily make your skin look better, but you can feel better knowing you now have more room for new shoes that you might actually wear...maybe)!

the kit includes:

Kerafole-- a tingling facial mask that not only deep cleans your pores, but hydrates and sweeps away dead skin cells, helping to reveal fresh skin

Lip Buff-- a sugar scrub/mask that gently exfoliates while it moisturizes lips with essential oils of mint, citrus, olive, shea butter and jojoba

Stress Solution-- a lightweight skin-soothing serum that helps protect skin from the irritation of over-exfoliation, environmental irritants and chronically sensitive skin.

each product can be bought and used alone, but the purpose of the kit (aside from saving yourself some money) is to use all three of the products together for 7 consecutive days, with no skipping. at the end of the week, you are to have the best skin ever.

so does it work?

yes!

after using it the first time, my skin felt super-soft and looked healthy. after about 3 or 4 days, i had no irritation, thanks to the Stress Solution, and i could tell my skin was responding well. i am proud to say i didn't skip one day, and at the end of my experience my skin looked amazing!

now that i have complted my purge, i am using the Kerafole mask twice a week. i still use the Stress Solution and Lip Buff with it, which makes for a quick, yet pleasant at-home treat. i love it!

review: Bioelements Oil Control Sleepwear

finding products that control oil are always on my radar. you may already know that the one thing i use to gage how well a product works for me at night is seeing how oily my skin is (or isn't) the following morning (and if you didn't, now you do).

much to my surprise, i discovered that one of my favorite skincare brands, Bioelements, makes a night cream that not only moisturizes and treats skin with great ingredients, but also controls oil!

Oil Control Sleepwear is a unique anti-aging cream that combines calcium, time-released retinol, protein peptides and vitamin E. it somehow knows to moisturize while controlling oil production, so all i wake up with is beautiful, healthy-looking skin!

i love this stuff! it's incredible, really.

the first time i used it, i admit, i was skeptical, but clearly it proved me wrong. this formula is lightweight, smells wonderful and is so refreshing once it's on. there's no greasy or heavy feeling whatsoever, which is so important to me when it comes to facial creams, and i don't wake up oily!

Bioelements is a TV Favorite

i am a huge fan of Bioelments, and i know that many stars are as well.

as it turns out, Bioelements is not only used on the sets of Ugly Betty, Brothers & Sisters, and Dancing with the Stars, but the makeup department of the new comedy Kath & Kim are also relying on the skin care line.

among the favorites of department head Dionne Smith is Equalizer, a hydrating tonic of rose, chamomile and geranium oils when they're on set. and she protects their skin during long outdoor shoots with Sun Diffusing Protector, a PABA-free sunscreen/moisturizer which also contains lavender and sage oils.

to help their skin recover from the long days, when they're at home, she has Selma (Blair) and Molly (Shannon) both use Oxygen Cocktail, an oxygen boosting serum for skin, to replenish their skin and maintain a luminous glow.

all of these products sound so amazing, don't they?

oh, the life of a hollywood star...

Bioelements Amino Mask

if you have acne prone skin, like me, and are looking for a fabulous new way to control it, i recommend you get yourself Bioelements Amino Mask. it's the best, most effective mask i have ever used! i think i can say it's an HG product!

i have used many masks to control my acne. and not to say that they didn't work, but they didn't work like this one. i usually would have to use a mask several times before i saw results. the Amino Mask shows skin improvements overnight. i know, i know, there are other masks on the market, one in particular comes to mind, that claim to work overnight, but they didn't work for me.

Bioelements Amino Mask is a salicylic acid mask that also contains sulfur, a great anti-bacterial ingredient. it helps to unclog pores and control oil-production (an added bonus), as weel as calm the skin. it gives a cooling sensation while it sits on my face, which feels lovely (especially with the weather i've been living with lately!). 15 minutes later, my skin feels fresh and soft. the best part-- it clears up exsisting acne, and prevents new flare-ups.

i have two kids, who are now both home on summer break, so i'm a little stressed sometimes! and as you might know, stress can sometimes show up on the face. now i don't have to worry about it. this mask, that could also work well as a spot treatment, has got my back.

treat your skin to Bioelements Recovery Serum

Bioelements Recovery Serum, i admit, was a little scary for me to use at first. pumping the serum into my hands the first time had me thinking i was about to apply a big glob of oil on my face, and really i didn't need that! fortunately, i already knew a hollywood makeup artist uses it on many of her clients, and the information about what it does, who it's for, and that it's formulated with natural ingredients, no mineral oils or weird synthetic fragrances that can irritate skin. so, really i had nothing to be worried about. very good thing...

Bioelements, as i have told you in a previous post, creates high-end, botanically based skin care products, each expertly crafted with a blend of plant extracts, aromatherapy oils, trace minerals and other natural ingredients. the Recovery Serum contains cerimides to repair and strenthen, while cammomile and lavendin oil soothe and heal the skin.

Recovery Serum is perfect for individuals who have aging, rough textured, over-exfoliated, dehydrated or stressed skin. during the day it is a perfect product to apply after moisturizer, just before your makeup, as it creates a smooth surface and really helps makeup to last and look better longer. at night use it after all other skincare products, on the eye area and on the neck. you'll wake up with refreshed, well-hydrated skin!

i can say i am no longer afraid to apply this amazing serum! check it out today at glow.com

review: Bioelements Beyond Hydration

Bioelements makes some of the most unique skincare products available, and Beyond Hydration is definitely one of them! this high-end, botanically based skin care product line is expertly crafted with a blend of plant extracts, aromatherapy oils, trace minerals and other natural ingredients. addressing a wide range of skin concerns, it's great for both men and women and skin issues from acne to wrinkles.

light-weight, oil-free and fortified with moisturizing phosopholipids, this product also contains astringent plant extracts to hydrate and strengthen the skin without clogging pores or causing breakouts. it's a non-greasy, refreshing gel perfect for us with oilier skin. it can be used day and night.

i fell in love with this product the moment i used it. i am amazed at how refreshed my skin feels and how well my skin responds to it. no dehydration is apparent (no lines or tightness), and that is such a fabulous thing! before i began using Beyond Hydration, i frequently would experience lines in my forehead (yikes!) and excessive oiliness-- my two red flags when it comes to knowing my skin needs moisture. now after two weeks, my skin looks fabulous and the oiliness is in check!

i use this gel in the morning after cleansing and before my sunscreen. at night i apply it the same way, but follow it with the Recovery Serum (my review on that will follow soon!). i wake up with refreshed skin that isn't drowning in oil...love it!

some other great points as well: all of the Bioelements products are not tested on animals, are free of any mineral oil, artificial colorants, synthetic fragrances, or animal by-products.

Superstar Skin, Courtesy of Bioelements

are you a fan of American Idol? do you ever watch and wish you knew what makes them look so fabulous?

ok, i know you're smart enough to know that there are makeup artists behind the flawless finishes. but do you know what makes the makeup look even better? great skin!

skincare is so important to having your makeup work best for you. many times we try to hide our imperfections with makeup, but if our skin isn't prepped and ready for it, it could end up looking worse than before you applied it.

so what skincare products are being used to create such a fabulous look for them?

makeup artist Tifanie White only uses the best products on their skin to give them an idol glow. with Carrie Underwood, Kellie Pickler, and Martie McGuire of The Dixie Chicks also on her client list, White is an expert at keeping her clients’ skin looking pristine through every performance. so what are her faves?

Bioelements Moisture Positive Cleanser, a rich lotion cleanser with a mild foaming action that gently cleanses skin to leave it hydrated, radiant and refreshed. contains healing Bioelements Adaptogens and aromatherapist oils. "it’s the best-smelling cleanser i have ever smelled", says White.

Bioelements Recovery Serum, a silky serum that gives an exceptional smooth-as-glass finish. applied after moisturizer, it allows the lipids to penetrate along with the moisturizer ingredients. "what a beautiful product," says White, "it always gives a glow."

and because all eyes are on the mouths of her singing clients, White recommends Bioelements Instant Emollient, an ultra-rich moisture stick for lips which instantly relives dryness and prevents chapping. "it does moisturize and heal the lips," she says, "while other lip treatments seem to only temporarily soothe the lips, this makes their lips noticeably less chapped."

looking like a star is never a bad thing-- you'll get the looks and compliments for looking fabulous without the annoying paparazzi stalking you.

all these products, and more, are available at Bioelements spas nationwide (www.bioelements.com for locations) or online at SpaLook.com or DermStore.com.
